:confused2:1 corinthians 6:9:10 say no , what do you think .
because if you lived that life style and ask jesus to be your lord and savior there should be a change .

My thoughts whenever I am approached with such sincere questions turn to Rom 1 v 16-32.

In His Love...God Bless

I think its certainly possible for someone to be a Christian and struggle with homosexual habits. I mean we have Christians struggling with all kinds of sins.

A Christian, hating but still struggling with Homosexuality, yes.

A professing Christian that rejects the word of God and openly practices Homosexuality anyway, no!

Not only is it possible for those who profess to be a Christian to be gay,but a durkard,a fornicator,or any other sin does not inherit the Kingdom of God.Matt 7:21 To me a Chirstian measures herself or himself by others who profess to be a Christian,a believers measures herself or himself by the Word of God. For without the Word in them, there fruit is always bad. There is only one principle higher then the name of Jesus,( philp 2:9-13)and that is, Jesus put his very Word above his name.( Psalms 138:2 in the King James) for an example of this please read matt 4 Jesus could of told the devil I am God go!! But look what Jesus himself did! He spoke as we are the Word! Can light have anything to do with darkness? Not according to the Word, nor in our fruit either.blessing.

I think the Bible condemns the homosexual lifestyle, so if you want to please Jesus you will realize that this lifestyle doesn't please him and you will repent and change

Amen to that Brighthouse. Like others have said, it is possible for a Christian who once was a homosexual to still have struggels in that area, i mean what born again believer is sin free, struggle free or what born again believer is not tempted by satan. but from the moment someone sincerly asks Jesus in his life, accepts Him as his/her lord & saviour and believe that He died on cross for our sins and rose on the 3rd day then the Holy Spirit will come in Him and if he submits The Holy Spirit will change him.

If someone is a true born again believer then he cannot bare bad fruit, "For a good tree bringeth not forth corrupt fruit; neither doth a corrupt tree bring forth good fruit." Luke 6:43.

All one has to do is trust God and believe in his heart without an ounce of doubt that He can and will deliver us from the evil one and his temptations.

What Brighthouse has said here gets to the issue - is the person involved a true disciple of Jesus? "Christian" is a label many people stick on themselves without getting serious about what that identification means. The Word of God is clear on the subject of homosexuality (1 Cor 6:9, 19-20). Its not that God hates gays - He doesn't hate them. The issue is that the gay lifestyle stands in opposition to His system for healthy relationships and procreation.

the Promise of the gospel is the power of GOd to change a sinner into the image of Christ. this is a process that takes time but change does happen. Jesus died to free us from sin now. Paul speaks of this change in romans 6-8. while a gay person will struggle with their homosexuality it is thiers to claim the power of GOd daily to overcome this sin, just as it is any other sinners priviliage through Christ. we must die daily as paul said. no sin is too great for God. all things are possible through Christ Jesus. in short while there is struggle and a process taking time but even sometimes an instant. you can and will change if you surrender to Christ daily. this is the gospel of freedom from sin through Jesus. praise God.

Did Jesus come back? I think we found something we finally both agree on in full. lol

I love that phrase "the Gospel of Freedom". How sad it is that so many people seem to think of freedom only as the power to do whatever you want whenever you want.

An example of homosexuality is found at Genesis 19, whereby two angels visits Abraham's nephew Lot in the year 1919 B.C.E. The angels were sent by God to strongly encourage Lot, his wife, and two daughters to flee the city before it is brought to ruin by God. Reports of homosexual misconduct began to surface, for at Genesis 18:20, Jehovah God says: "The cry of complaint about Sod´om and Go·mor´rah, yes, it is loud, and their sin, yes, it is very heavy."

However, the account says that before the materialized angels that took on human bodies, "could lie down, the men of the city, the men of Sod´om, surrounded the house, from boy to old man, all the people in one mob. And they kept calling out to Lot and saying to him: “Where are the men who came in to you tonight? Bring them out to us that we may have intercourse with them.”(Gen 19:4, 5)

The angels then struck the wicked crowd with mental blindness, "the men who were at the entrance of the house, from the least to the greatest, so that they were wearing themselves out trying to find the entrance."(Gen 19:11)

The two angels then told Lot: "Do you have anyone else here? Son-in-law and your sons and your daughters and all who are yours in the city, bring out of the place! For we are bringing this place to ruin, because the outcry against them has grown loud before Jehovah, so that Jehovah sent us to bring the city to ruin.”(Gen 19:12, 13)

Lot "kept lingering", so that "when the dawn ascended, then the angels became urgent with Lot, saying: “Get up! Take your wife and your two daughters who are found here, for fear you may be swept away in the error of the city!” (Gen 19:15, 16)

Upon Lot and his family reaching the outskirts of Sodom, the angels adamantly told him: "Escape for your soul! Do not look behind you and do not stand still in all the District! Escape to the mountainous region for fear you may be swept away!”(Gen 19:17) When Lot and his family arrived at Zoar, "then Jehovah made it rain sulphur and fire from Jehovah, from the heavens, upon Sod´om and upon Go·mor´rah. So he went ahead overthrowing these cities, even the entire District and all the inhabitants of the cities and the plants of the ground."(Gen 19:24, 25)

Thus, the cities of Sodom and Gomorrah, the "entire District and all the inhabitants of the cities" were destroyed because of the "their sin, yes, it is very heavy." God judged these as worthy of destruction. Almost two thousand years later, Jude, in about 65 C.E., was inspired to write that "Sod´om and Go·mor´rah and the cities about them, after they in the same manner as the foregoing ones had committed fornication ("fornication" Greek por·nei´a, meaning "prostitution, unchastity, fornication, of every kind of unlawful sexual intercourse.") excessively and gone out after flesh for unnatural use, are placed before [us] as a [warning] example by undergoing the judicial punishment of everlasting fire."(Jude 7)

Hence, the apostle Paul wrote that "What! Do you not know that unrighteous persons will not inherit God’s kingdom? Do not be misled. Neither fornicators, nor idolaters, nor adulterers, nor men kept for unnatural purposes, nor men who lie with men, nor thieves, nor greedy persons, nor drunkards, nor revilers, nor extortioners will inherit God’s kingdom."(1 Cor 6:9, 10)

Paul now says: "And yet that is what some of you were. But you have been washed clean, but you have been sanctified, but you have been declared righteous in the name of our Lord Jesus Christ and with the spirit of our God."(1 Cor 6:11)

Hence, all who wish to gain God's favor must discard any homosexual conduct and desires, though it may be difficult. These must "strip off the old personality with its practices, and clothe yourselves with the new [personality], which through accurate knowledge is being made new according to the image of the One who created it."(Col 3:9, 10)

Paul further wrote to the Ephesians, that "you should put away the old personality which conforms to your former course of conduct and which is being corrupted according to his deceptive desires; but that you should be made new in the force actuating your mind, and should put on the new personality which was created according to God’s will in true righteousness and loyalty."(Eph 4:22-24)

Paul now says concerning fornication: "Let no man deceive you with empty words, for because of the aforesaid things the wrath of God is coming upon the sons of disobedience."(Eph 5:6) Therefore, only those who "put away the old personality", removing all vestiges of homosexual thoughts and behavior, "put(ting) on the new personality " can gain everlasting life, be it on an earthly paradise (Luke 23:43) or serving as one of the 144,000 "kings and priests" in heaven.(Rev 5: 9, 10)

Why can't gays be Christian? We're all sinners. And Jesus died to take take away our sins. So as long as gays believe in Jesus, they're pretty much saved, right?

It's a matter of a repentant heart and mind. A real good sign of a "Born Again" Christian and Jesus said you must be born again to be a Christian, is a person who has repented of their sins. There is no such thing as a practicing, non-repentant homosexual, the two are in total conflict with one another.

Now, this can be confusing, considering it is very possible for a person who is "Born Again" and still currently a struggling homosexuality to some degree. The difference is, this person knows in their heart that it is wrong and wants to change, and in God's timing and prayer with supplication, the change will come.

But, a Christian , who blatantly practices homosexuality with no regard to repentance, is no Christian at all. It is impossible to have the Holy Spirit abiding in you and not be convicted of this repeated sin!

Quite true. That is also big part of being a Christian: repentance.

I think someone else already said it but I will again.

Every new Christian is a sinner and will have sins they need to sort out when they come to Christ.

The first step is recognising it as sin. It may take a while to start to get victory over the sin. However the new Christian should immediately take some steps towards gaining that victory.

Some Pratical steps they should be undertaking:-

1) stop having sex
2) move out of a homosexual living together arrangement.
3) get rid of all your sexual images
4) get rid of anything that entices you towards homosexuality

If anyone continues to actively entertain the sin I would find it hard to believe they have repented and received Christ, even though only God truly knows the heart. However I would not fellowship with a supposed Gay Christian if, "they don't see it as a sin" and are still in some way openly active in that lifestyle.

Personally only God knows the heart and I can't judge someone as Saved or not.

Keep in mind the difference between mere churchgoers and true disciples of Jesus. As Billy Sunday once said, "Going to church doesn't make you a Christian any more than going to a garage makes you a car."

Please, no offense intended, but going to church has absolutely nothing to do with a person going to Hell or not. Christ living inside you is what gets you out of Hell!
