First, let's look at the similarities between man and animal:
-They all have one Breath, which is the Breath of Life they have received from the Father:
Ecclesiastes 3:18 I said in mine heart concerning the estate of the sons of men, that God might manifest them, and that they might see that they themselves are beasts.
19 For that which befalleth the sons of men befalleth beasts; even one thing befalleth them: as the one dieth, so dieth the other; yea, they have all one breath; so that a man hath no preeminence above a beast: for all is vanity.
20 All go unto one place; all are of the dust, and all turn to dust again.
-Both animals and humans have the same Breath of Life, which is their "living soul", and they both received it from the same Father:
Genesis 2:7 "And the LORD God formed man of the dust of the ground, and breathed into his nostrils the breath of life; and man became a living soul."
-So, the same Father created both humans and animals, out of the same dust, which makes them brothers, seeing they have the same Father. And because they are brothers, killing an ox is just like killing a man:
Isaiah 66:3 He that killeth an ox is as if he slew a man [...]
-And killing a man, is most unlawful: "Thou shalt not kill". But this "kill", not only prohibits the killing of humans, but also the killing of animals, because they are all "living souls" with the Breath of the Father, so killing animals, is still a "kill", a loss of breath, life and soul, the same way killing a man is a loss of breath, life and soul. They are Brothers of the same Father :
1 John 3:15 Whosoever hateth his brother is a murderer: and ye know that no murderer hath eternal life abiding in him.
