Pauls says that it is because of Christ's shed blood at the cross that God's enemies are now His friends and are made holy and blameless before God and not by any other means or works.
I agree with this. I just point out where God says that he won't apply the blood to those who won't walk in the light. God cannot be Just and impute righteousness unto those who have been given knowledge of his righteousness and refuse to walk in it. To whom much is given, much is required. Only the blood can pay for the penalty of sin and satisfy the wrath of God for each of us. Repentance required. Obedience to the truth required. Not to be confused with thinking that absolute sinless perfection being required as it clearly is not.
