Is a being a true believer different than simply truly believing?

In God's eyes, when we believe in Jesus, Jesus' righteousness is credited, or imputed, to us. We are forgiven. But even though legally speaking we are not under condemnation, we are still sinners saved by grace. Every believer continues to sin until the day they day. Not a single minute goes by that you don't fail to give God proper praise and glory, and that my friend is sin. But even more, on a daily basis you commit murder and you commit adultery, and you worship idols too. All of this you do on a daily basis, nay, an hourly basis, in the deep recesses of your heart. But by the grace of God, if you are born again by The Spirit of God, you will do these things less and less and less over time through the sanctifying work of Christ living inside of you.

May the Lord richly bless you with an abundance of peace and joy. According to the Word of God, God does not see me as a sinner, but if you want to be seen that way....more power to you. I pray that you receive everything that God has in store for you.

1 Corinthians 5:21 God made Him (Jesus) who had no sin to be sin for us, so that IN HIM we might become the righteousness of God.

Psalm 103:12 As far as the east is from the west, so far has He removed our transgressions from us.

Hebrews 8:12 For I will be merciful to their unrighteousness, and their sins and their iniquities will I remember no more.

I am Not a sinner saved by grace. I am an even as born again spirit filled Child of God.
In the written word of God you will read we are not to be sin conscience. So either you are born again or you are a sinner for you can not be both. You make some bold statements here and I can say in all truth I do NOT do those things.
I miss it now and again and I repent ( turn to God or Turn in another direction ) I seek Him and if I need to change the way i was thinking or doing something he will lety me kinow and I do my part and it is fixed and not happening any more.
Lord Jesus I bind these strong holds over my brothers thinking and I loose a sound mind in Christ Jesus and thank you that he is the righteousness of God in Christ Jesus...amen
Yes, i know you "miss it now and again". Everyone sins. The difference between the born again child of God and the unrepentant sinner is that the Child of God, by the grace of God, repents of their sin, asks God for forgiveness, and is led by God's Spirit into deeper and deeper submission over time. But both persons continue in sin for the entire duration of their life. One is justfied by Christs righteousness which is imputed to them by faith, the other is condemned. But both keep on sinning until their death (the Child of God just sins less and less with time due to the Spirit of God working in them to their sanctification).

When I said that you commit murder, adultery, and idolatry; this is what I meant:

"But I tell you that anyone who looks at a woman lustfully has already committed adultery with her in his heart." Matthew 5:28

"Anyone who hates a brother or sister is a murderer" 1 John 3:15

So you see that even the smallest amount of sinful desire is the same thing as real murder and real adultery. All of us, even the born again children of God, constantly commit these disgusting sins every day of our lives.

"The eternal Life, the eternal Son, put on flesh and blood, and died to wash us from our sins in his own blood, and procures for us the sacred influences by which sin is to be subdued more and more, till it is quite done away. While the necessity of a holy walk is insisted upon, as the effect and evidence of the knowledge of God in Christ Jesus, the opposite error of self-righteous pride is guarded against with equal care. All who walk near to God, in holiness and righteousness, are sensible that their best days and duties are mixed with sin. God has given testimony to the sinfulness of the world, by providing a sufficient, effectual Sacrifice for sin, needed in all ages; and the sinfulness of believers themselves is shown, by requiring them continually to confess their sins, and to apply by faith to the blood of that Sacrifice. Let us plead guilty before God, be humble, and willing to know the worst of our case. Let us honestly confess all our sins in their full extent, relying wholly on his mercy and truth through the righteousness of Christ, for a free and full forgiveness, and our deliverance from the power and practice of sin."

""When we come to Christ by faith and trust Him to forgive and cleanse us of all our sin, we are in that moment born again (John 3:3). That new birth of the spirit results in a new creation (2 Corinthians 5:17). God gives therepentant sinnera new heart that is now turned toward obeying and pleasing Him rather than self (2 Corinthians 5:9;Romans 8:5–6). Whereas we were formerly slaves to sin, we are now “slaves to righteousness” (Romans 6:16). Sin’s control has been broken by the power of Jesus (Romans 6:6;Titus 2:14).

However, we still live in the flesh, and the flesh is prone to want what it wants. In Romans 7:21–23, Paul admits the battle between flesh and spirit in his own life: “So I find this law at work: Although I want to do good, evil is right there with me. For in my inner being I delight in God’s law; but I see another law at work in me, waging war against the law of my mind and making me a prisoner of the law of sin at work within me.” Each battle with temptation is won or lost based upon how fully we aresurrenderedto the control of the Holy Spirit (Galatians 5:16–17).

The book of 1 John was written to Christians. The apostle says, “If we claim to be without sin, we deceive ourselves and the truth is not in us. If we confess our sins, he is faithful and just and will forgive us our sins and purify us from all unrighteousness” (1 John 1:8–9). It is clear from this passage that even those who have been born again and redeemed by the blood of Jesus will still sin. Through thought, attitude, or action, we will “grieve” (Ephesians 4:30) and “quench” (1 Thessalonians 5:19) the Holy Spirit at times. But this passage also reassures us that God offers continual, ongoing grace whenever we agree with Him about our sin and ask for His cleansing.

However, other passages clarify the boundaries of this ocean of grace.First John 3:6says, “No one who lives in him keeps on sinning. No one who continues to sin has either seen him or known him.” Verse 9 says that those who have been “born of God” will not continue to live sinfully. The implication is that this is not a matter of trying harder. Rather, it is the equivalent of saying, “A fish cannot remain on land for long because its nature is to seek water.” A fish could flop onto the shore and survive for a short time. But it was not made for land and cannot continue there. When we are born again, our natures change, and we cannot continue in sin. Christ not only erases our past sin; He also transforms our hearts so that we no longer desire it (Colossians 2:13–14).

Paul asked, “What shall we say, then? Shall we go on sinning so that grace may increase? By no means! We are those who have died to sin; how can we live in it any longer?” (Romans 6:1–2). Although Christians will still sin after being saved, the heart change that the Holy Spirit brings will result in a new attitude toward sin. Sin cannot continue being a lifestyle choice if we have surrendered our lives to Jesus. That’s what it means to say that Jesus is Lord (Romans 10:9;Colossians 2:6). We have a new boss. We cannot be followers of Christ and followers of sin at the same time. They are going in opposite directions (Luke 9:23;14:33).Romans 12:2 instructs, “Be transformed by therenewing of your mind.” Renewal can take some time, but it is a process that produces a change of behavior.

When a true child of God goes astray, our Father administers discipline to bring him back into obedience.Hebrews 12:7–8says, “It is for discipline that you have to endure. God is treating you as sons. For what son is there whom his father does not discipline? If you are left without discipline, in which all have participated, then you are illegitimate children and not sons.” If a professing Christian can choose a lifestyle of sin without experiencing enough discipline to bring them to repentance, then according to this Scripture, it is highly unlikely that that person is a child of God.

Do Christians sin? Yes. Do they willfully continue in sin? No. Scripture indicates that, while we will always “fall short of the glory of God” (Romans 3:23), we have the hope that the power of God is at work in us to “make us more and more like him as we are changed into his glorious image” (2 Corinthians 3:18, NLT)."

Brother, lets get one thing straight, if i believed what my heart is telling me, i would be the most unrepentant, flagrant sinner you have ever known. my heart is evil, plain and straight up, EVIL. my heart is constantly trying to convince me of evil things, and my mind is also.

Repentance does have to do with believing... believing God's judgement concerning sin, agreeing with Him about it, and turning away from it and looking towards Christ as your savior.

Repentance is the striving to be holy just like God is holy.

"You are to be perfect, even as your Father in Heaven is perfect" Matthew 5:48

I figured that is what you were saying BUT honestly not all Chrisitans do these sins. I do not hate a brother. I hate sin. I do not lust for any woman or any thing for the lust of the flesh goes beyond sexual sins. Ephesians 5;3 God said let there be no sexual impurittiy be found in you. Brother that settled it for me. You will not ever find any kind of sexual sin even thought in me.

Mark 11:25 says when you stand praying-if you have aught against any- forgive- that your Father which is in Heaven- may forgive you your tresspasses....Brother that settled it for me........This says right now.....it's a command. Galations 5:16 If you walk in the Spirit you will not satisfy the lust of the flesh......again this settled it brother for me

So we have to renew our minds in Gods written word in order to be able to walk in the spirit..( romans 12;2 )
So you see........we do not all have to have these sins in our lives........

You deceive yourself..

I do not hate a brother.

I do not lust for any woman or any thing for the lust of the flesh goes beyond sexual sins.

You will not ever find any kind of sexual sin even thought in me.

If we say that we have no sin, we are deceiving ourselves and the truth is not in us.
1 John 1:18

I really don't care to continue this back and forth any longer. I would prefer that refrain from posting until God has humbled you and you are ready to admit your sins. Until then, you keep on posting lies and its really pointless to continue going on with this.

I repent of my sin every time i miss it. But i choose to focus not on my sin, but on the Blood of Jesus that saves me from that sin. So when i say that i am the righteousness of God in Christ Jesus....I am choosing to see myself as God sees me. I am choosing to focus on what the Blood of Jesus has done for me....because that is more important to me than my sin. The Bible says that if we are sin conscious then our own heart will condemn us. And the more we focus on our sin, the more we sin because that is what we are renewing our minds to instead of the Word of Our Precious Father.

You deceive yourself..

If we say that we have no sin, we are deceiving ourselves and the truth is not in us.

Now that is thee most rude judgemental statement you have said so far. If you have problems with lusting then deal with it BUT do not accuse me as lying if i say I do not lust. I do not hate and if you have issues here then deal with them but do not apply I have to have these or I am lying.
Brother I forgive you of this and hold no aught against you. Brother I love you !!
If you want to stop talking then so be it but don't stop because you have twisted what i said into what you think it said.
Blessings

at this point, i am pretty much done with this conversation. I have shared with you the word of God which says that if you say that you have no sin then you are deceiving yourself. yet you continue to claim that there is no sin in you. at this point you are only arguing with God.

Brother......like it says in the writtern word of God. Learn to walk in the spirit and you will not satisfy the lust of the flesh. This means we can actually do this.........Have a wonderful night Brother
