Over the Christmas Holidays I thought for many of us here, this would make for an interesting thought provoking look at ourselves.I will use my church as an example of such. A couple believed something about someone else in the church, they were so certain they spread news of this to other people,in and around the church. They became intolerant at this woman, because of certain things done by her to them in times past. After this couple found out they were so very wrong about there intolerance of this woman, they went to there pastor for some advice. He was an Irish pastor, and told them to take a feathered pillow,go up to the roof of there house place a knife in the pillow and come back to see him. This they did,as much of the block was covered in feathers. The pastor said now go, and collect every single feather from the pillow, you put a knife in, and bring them to me. But Pastor!!!!

The wind took much of the feathers and there is no way we could gather each and every feather!! The Pastor said, so it is with gossip!( rom 1:29,2 cor 12:20,1 tim 5:13 and 3 john 1:10) Do you understand now why words are so important? The Pastor said. Do you see the great harm in becoming intolerant of a person for whatever reason? Even if you believe yourself to be certain? It is brothers and sisters an understanding of why the Lord sometimes hides from his own children for a time.( isaiah 45:15) A time when Jesus wants us to look deep within our own heart and see what he sees, like Hezekiah did!(2 chronicles 32:24-31)verse 31 God left him alone ONLY to test them, that he( Hezekiah or ourselves) might know all that was in there own heart!

Feeling and emotion can be very strong this time of year, as we all know. And not staying led by Holy Spirit inside of us can lead us to our flesh, rather then remembering( col 4:6) After many days the couple went to the woman and asked her for there forgiveness,to which the woman replied, your words have done great harm to me,and have hurt me very deeply, but i would not be a servant, if I choose not to serve would I? I have prayed for you,and the Lord has heard my prayer, even if you both would not have come to me.I forgive you,and let us hope as in all things we each learn what rom 12:3 stand for and always means! Indeed! There are indeed two winds which can blow on people which cannot see the wind. But in each case if the wind is of Holy Spirit, or an evil wind, one can sure see the results of the wind! My we all consider our words before we even think to speak them amen.

Thank you for sharing that brother @Brighthouse

So good to be reminded of these things and to seek the Lord that we may guard our tongues

The Goodnews Bible translates Proverbs 18:8 as "Gossip is so tasty how we love to swallow it"
Let us not be eager to feast on gossip!

But be known for sharing the tender love of Christ in all our conversation

A word fitly spoken is like apples of gold in pictures of silver.
Proverbs 25:11
