In Jesus Christ there is Freedom
Holidays speak of a time of celebration. Freedom is certainly something to celebrate. The only true freedom humans have is whom they will serve. God gave you this freedom, and now it's up to you to use it wisely. In John 8 Jesus said, "If you continue in My word, then you are truly disciples of Mine; and you will know the truth, and the truth will make you free... Truly, truly, I say to you, everyone who commits sin is the slave of sin... So if the Son makes you free, you will be free indeed."
Would you rather be a slave of sin or a slave of righteousness? Would you rather serve Satan or serve Jesus Christ? It's your decision because God has given you this freedom. According to Jesus, we become truly free by knowing and obeying His Word. Free from the power of sin. Free from the control of the devil. Free from the finality of death. No longer enslaved to the darkness within. But, there is a price you must pay for this freedom. You must become a disciple of Christ.
Jesus will save you from sin and death, but you MUST follow Him. There is no other way! Jesus went on to declare, "Truly, truly, I say to you, if anyone keeps My word he will never see death." Eternal life is found in knowing and obeying His Word. If you are a disciple of Christ, then take some time this holiday season to rejoice over your freedom. And while you're at it, remember to stay close to God and His Word. But if this message finds you far from God and close to Hell, don't give up. You still have a choice. Let God set you free from the curse of sin and death. Let God's Son give you eternal life. God be with you all...
