Hi people of TalkJesus. I signed up to this site yesterday for encouragement and fellowship after I, for the first time in way too long, bowed down and repented of all my sins and asked Jesus to make me a new person and basically 'take the wheel' in my life.
I was brought up by two super strong Christian parents which I'm thankful for as I believe 100% in Christ and the gospel and have seen the Lord active in my life; But there have also been periods where I have turned my back on Him (not intentionally) and lived in sin. In my heart I've always wanted to repent and turn back to Jesus but I stupidly allowed myself to be in situations that make it difficult to fully surrender myself.
But enough is enough and I never want to be far from Him again. He saved my life when I could have died in a car vs pedestrian(me) accident because at the moment of impact I cried out in my heart "help me Jesus", and he has healed me countless times and given me guidance. I want to repay what He has done for me by living for Him.
I have a long way to go before I can feel right calling myself a Christian again, but Jesus has forgiven me so hopefully taking part in discussions in this forum will help build my faith back up to where it should be.
Sorry for the loooooong intro
