Our identity does not come from our performance. That's what our society, our world, would have us believe. But if you are courageous (or desperate) enough to get still from all your performing and ask your Maker who you are; you will hear His whisper arise in the stillness,

"This is my daughter (my son) in whom I am well pleased."

Those powerful and foundational and identifying words are not based on who you are, but rather Whose you are. -[Grit& Grace]

Let me say that again.

It is not who you are, but whose you are.

Do you believe this?

Col_2:8 See to it that no one takes you captive by philosophy and empty deceit, according to human tradition, according to the elemental spirits of the world, and not according to Christ.

Col_2:20 If with Christ you died to the elemental spirits of the world, why, as if you were still alive in the world, do you submit to regulations--

Gal_4:3 In the same way we also, when we were children, were enslaved to the elementary principles of the world.

Gal_4:9 But now that you have come to know God, or rather to be known by God, how can you turn back again to the weak and worthless elementary principles of the world, whose slaves you want to be once more?

Gal_6:14 But far be it from me to boast except in the cross of our Lord Jesus Christ, by which the world has been crucified to me, and I to the world.

Eph_1:4 even as he chose us in him before the foundation of the world, that we should be holy and blameless before him.

1Jn_2:2 He is the propitiation for our sins, and not for ours only but also for the sins of the whole world.

1Jn_4:4 Little children, you are from God and have overcome them, for he who is in you is greater than he who is in the world.

1Jn_4:9 In this the love of God was made manifest among us, that God sent his only Son into the world, so that we might live through him.

1Jn_4:17 By this is love perfected with us, so that we may have confidence for the day of judgment, because as he is so also are we in this world.

This is where the perfect love of God (Gods perfect love for you) casts out all fear of judgement. In other words, you have nothing to be afraid of, He has got you covered from head to toe!

1Jn_5:4 For everyone who has been born of God overcomes the world. And this is the victory that has overcome the world--our faith.

Do not miss that. It does not say -this is the victory that overcome the world--our flesh.

Rather this is the victory that has overcome the world--our faith.

Faith in who? Ourselves?

Faith in CHRIST. He is the Savior, you are not!

Again. It is not who you are, but whose you are.

1Jn_5:5 Who is it that overcomes the world except the one who believes that Jesus is the Son of God?

Christ is now your identity.

Rest in Him.
