When everything goes wrong & seems contrary to the Word & the usual, only those with great faith can say with Job, "Though He slay me, yet will I trust Him!" (Job 13:15) Even though the Lord let the Devil nearly destroy him, Job still didn't say "uncle" to the Devil, nor even to his wife who told him to curse God & die! He just kept on believing & obeying!--And he came out doubly blessed & lives forever!

But a lot of people faint on the way to victory. They get weak & tired & they give up. They "suffer so many things in vain." (Gal.3:4) They go though so much & then miss the victory!--Like Esau, they give up too easily. He despised his birthright & settled for something he could see & easily believe in, rather than something he couldn't see & had to have great faith for. (Gen.25:33-34)

So when things look darkest, don't look down!--Look up! Be not fearful, but believing! Keep believing & obeying no matter what happens! Don't get down in the mouth, murmuring & discouraged, but praise the Lord & thank Him for the glorious victories of the future by faith, even if you can't see them now.--You'll be glad you trusted Him tomorrow!

Good post, Zulu. In the couple of years I've been posting on Christian forums and for years before that, many times I've heard people whine about the devil being after them. They keep saying, "Why me? Why me?" and I say. "Its because you keep making yourself available; you keep letting him in the door."

When Jesus faced off against the devil in the desert (see Lk 4:1-13), he didn't do it as God, he did it as a human - a man totally dependent upon the Holy Spirit (see Phil 2:6-8). He'd been up on that hill fasting and praying forty days and forty nights and Satan thought he could take advantage of his physical weakness and trick him. But Jesus (full of the Holy Spirit), physically weak as he was, fired Scripture bullets back at Satan and made him flee.

We,too, can have the Holy Spirit in us which will give us the fortitude to study God's Word and load our spiritual guns with scripture bullets. But for that to happen, we must make the decision every day to not let our emotions rule our hearts.

When Satan knocks at the door of our heart and our emotions answer, he smiles and walks right in. But, when he knocks on that door and the Holy Spirit answers, he says, "Oops, I'm outta here!" and he flees.

I am reminded of the phrase:

Fear knocked at the door, Faith answered

God bless  :rainbow: :rose:
