I love Jesus Christ. He is in my heart and the Holy Spirit is my counsel. When I turn to you at Talk Jesus, I am indeed counseled. Thank you for taking the time to answer my fledgling questions.
Below is a passage, that I haven't come to fully understand, except that Jesus is giving all Glory to the Father. It seems to me that He separates His identity and acknowledges the Father as God, the Vine dresser, the Potter.... Could anyone expand on this?
# Mark 10:18 (Whole Chapter)
"Why do you call me good?" Jesus answered. "No one is good—except God alone.
Also there is this beautiful prose from Jesus.
# Matthew 11:29 (Whole Chapter)
Take my yoke upon you and learn from me, for I am gentle and humble in heart, and you will find rest for your souls.
Just thought I would throw that one in, He is so Beautiful.
Finally one last question I ask of my friends here at Talk Jesus. How do you consider the following verse? Perhaps Jesus was referring to the Jewish peoples, scribes, etc..., but I wonder if He is referring to us too. That we all take responsibility for the death of the prophets. Are we the generation too, the generation of Jesus Christ?
6Jesus replied, "And you experts in the law, woe to you, because you load people down with burdens they can hardly carry, and you yourselves will not lift one finger to help them.
47"Woe to you, because you build tombs for the prophets, and it was your forefathers who killed them. 48So you testify that you approve of what your forefathers did; they killed the prophets, and you build their tombs. 49Because of this, God in his wisdom said, 'I will send them prophets and apostles, some of whom they will kill and others they will persecute.' 50Therefore this generation will be held responsible for the blood of all the prophets that has been shed since the beginning of the world, 51from the blood of Abel to the blood of Zechariah, who was killed between the altar and the sanctuary. Yes, I tell you, this generation will be held responsible for it all.
We are sanctified by the love and sacrifice of Jesus Christ Himself. That is why I pay special attention to my prayers, that they may reach my Father, through Lord Jesus Christ.
Any input would be great. Thank you all at Talk Jesus, for helping me continue to grow in Lord Jesus Christ. Amen
