I fear to reject His plan because of my choices!

Dear Brethren,

:embarasseFor years, i set in my heart to remain single and serve Jesus Christ in that way, i mean my current marital status as our elder Paul did. But I fear of refraining and doing what is opponent to my Heavenly Father's willpower as i am concerned (Jeremiah 29:11-13). In fact, i am afraid of being what GOD did not plan for me.:embarasse or maybe I became a Great Goofy because of my choices which do not glorify Jesus Christ. who knows!?

I ever wanted to know many foreign languages and travel around the world through sharing the Gospel but i did not yet know it means to become Missionary. I spoke with a Swedish Missionary when he told me that, in our Community Church, the Evangelical Church of the Congo, in French Eglise Evangélique du Congo (E.E.C.) there are no missionaries and it's true till today. and there is no missionary department.

I am really afraid :embarasseof remaining stubborn and just do my heart desire.

What truly motivates me in that choice is what Paul wrote about the marriage: when a man is married, he must do the best to please his wife and vice-versa for a wife. But as i am concerned, and though I feel in my heart to be a helper for couples and young people, I would not like to get married. well, for more, I would rather you to discover it by yourselves when replying my thread.

Shalom to you all!

I'm not sure if I understand exactly what you're saying but ...

I want to say this, even though it might not be the kind of answer you expected:

Sometimes your hearts desire is something you've recieved from God. I'm not talking about selfish ambitions ... many people think that you're supposed to reject your own dreams and ambitions, but you really shouldn't unless they're selfish.

For example, I've got a dream about what I want to do with my future. Not long ago, I heard a sermon about how you should lay aside your own will and ambitions.

After hearing that, I felt a bit sad, because I thought that I'd have to lay aside my dream. But then I realised that God have given me this dream - it's my dream but that doesn't mean it's not Gods will!

(Basically, your will is not Gods will but Gods will can be yours too ...)

dear brother,

My understanding is if we truly love God with all our hearts ,minds ,will and strength , we will not miss his plan. And His will will be ours.
As far as i see, marriage is a good battlefield to die to self and learn to lay down our lives for others. Missionary pass to people God's love, and God's love is in relationships. The hardest relationship is in marriage. And people need models. So I think "to be or not to be " is not the most important thing. What really matters is to love--first God then people.
We glorify Him when we love in His way.:)
bless you in Jesus' name

My friend, do not fear seeking the will of God above all. As you walk in faith prayerfully taking each step do not be afraid of missing His will either for He will lead, guide and draw you by His Spirit. Walking with God is not about fear but about coming to a place of absolute surrender of our fleshly lives and absolute faith in Christ. Both of these can be accomplished only by the power of the Holy Spirit. No matter what circumstance He leads you through (single or married, rich or poor, etc) He is more than able to use you and to keep you in the perfect center of His will.
Do not despair, He is only looking at you for a willing heart. I will be praying for you.
Many blessings in His wonderful Name,
your brother Larry.
