I Dreamed of Heaven

I dreamed of Heaven the other night
And pearly gates swung wide,
An angel with halo bright
Ushered me inside.


And there to my astonishment
Stood folks I judged and labeled
As quite unfit, of little worth
And spiritually disabled.


Indignant words rose to my lips
But never were set free.
For every face showed stunned surprise -
No one expected me.

Sweet Dreams

Oh! the joy that comes when I lay down to sleep.
For my soul is at peace, my lord does keep.
I enter into a heavenly realm,
Where Almighty God is at the helm.

A precious time of meeting.
His Spirit is all around.
I feel so warm and safe. His love abounds.
As a little bird, comfortable in its nest.
Such is the sweetness that fills my breast.

Lord, I pray, thank you for my life.
For you have raised me above stress and strife.
I can only feel love, all bitterness has gone.
Because, in your heavenly realm I belong.

With your Spirit in me.
From the world I am set apart.
Although I am in it, you have won my heart.
Your golden treasure lies within.
For you have cleansed me and taken all my sin.
This body of mine, a temple for my Lord.
Jesus enthroned, glorified and adored.
