Hypocrisy will harm your life

The Bible says "Therefore, laying aside all malice, all deceit, hypocrisy, envy, and all evil speaking, as newborn babes, desire the pure milk of the word, that you may grow thereby, if indeed you have tasted that the Lord is gracious." (1 Peter 2:1-3)

What is hypocrisy? Its doing or saying things that does not really come from your heart or that you do not mean. For example, even saying "good morning" or "how are you doing" when you do not mean it can be hypocrisy. When we do this, we grieve Jesus Christ as He wants us to genuinely care for others.

But if we allow ourselves to be consumed with our own problems, then we cannot genuinely care for others because we can't stop thinking of the issues we are facing. The Bible says that we must cast all our cares onto Jesus Christ because He cares for us (1 Peter 5:7)

How do we do this? Say this prayer:

In Jesus Name I command my heart and mind to cast all my cares upon Jesus for He cares for me. I command my heart and mind to believe and crave for Jesus. In Jesus Name I command my heart and mind to do the will of Jesus and to genuinely care for others. In Jesus Name, I reject and cast out every spirit of guile and hypocrisy. I receive the spirit of humility and sincerity and love for others in Jesus Name.

Hi Dhanusha. A person could be a hypocrite without them realizing it.

For example, psychologists call it being in denial. A person can declare they are a Christian in their work place environment and preach about showing love and kindness. Yet, at the same time be one of the biggest gossipers and meddlers in other peoples affairs at work. They walk around acting like they love Jesus and have a bible on their desk, then quite happily ridicule and gossip about others they claim to love. When confronted, their pride is so strong and lack self awareness, so that they are deep in denial and struggle to join the dots together and realize what they are doing and how much of a hypocrite they are. This same scenario could apply to quite a number of different aspects in a Christian's life. To not be a hypocrite requires not just loving God, but also developing a degree of humility and self awareness to take a careful look at our selves. Although in my experience such ones have serious issues and just worm and riddle their way out of it by telling lies and making up excuses, and laughing it off. It is true Jesus will judge them, but how do you get through to such people, its almost as if you need a hammer and chisel to get through to them!!!

Yes, I agree that humbleness is the key. As the scriptures says in James 4: 5-7, 5 Or do you think that the Scripture says in vain, “The Spirit who dwells in us yearns jealously”? 6 But He gives more grace. Therefore He says: “God resists the proud, but gives grace to the humble.”7 Therefore submit to God. Resist the devil and he will flee from you.

The only solution is believing that JESUS CAN DO ALL THINGS and pray that JESUS CHRIST will show mercy on that person and at the same time remembering that the kind of sinner I myself was and JESUS showed mercy on me. JESUS can do the same for that person.

We are even required to ''love our enemies and we can do this by the power of HIS NAME and BLOOD. In Luke 6: 34-36, the Word of God says,
34 And if you lend to those from whom you hope to receive back, what credit is that to you? For even sinners lend to sinners to receive as much back. 35 But love your enemies, do good, and lend, hoping for nothing in return; and your reward will be great, and you will be sons of the Most High. For He is kind to the unthankful and evil. 36 Therefore be merciful, just as your Father also is merciful.

This scripture is clear that I am commanded to love even my enemies so that I will be a child of GOD. What more this person, surely I must love and be long suffering/patient whilst stating scriptures to them. IF they do not want to listen, I will leave difficult people to GOD and declare the ''good news'' to others.

Only the HOLY SPIRIT can convict the person. Our job in CHRIST is just to help others to know the scriptures and then IT IS STILL THEIR CHOICE. We must still have the peace of CHRIST.
