Hello all...

I'm obviously new to the forum and wanted to say hello to everyone. I'm 50 years old, male, married, no kids, and a very recent fledgling Christian. A very good friend introduced me to Jesus by sharing how her belief helped her throughout her life as a Christian. Soon thereafter, I had an epiphany and ever since then I've been asking Jesus to strengthen my belief and understanding.

I went from a strict non-believer (I even thought Jesus was nothing more than a con man) to one who cannot read enough in trying to learn more about Him. This has been a drastic and totally unexpected transformation for me. If someone told me one year ago that I'd soon consider myself a Christian and have a thirst for Jesus, I would have laughed at them. But now here I am...

Thank you Jesus for your patience and your continued search for me.

Welcome to TalkJesus, Chuck. Your experience parallels my own somewhat. On April 28, 1983 I was an active alcoholic nominal Christian. On April 29th of that year, I had an encounter with the Holy Spirit, one of the results of which was a raging thirst for God's Word. I got saved in July of that year and, on August 6th of the same year, He delivered me fom alcohol dependency.

Whatever questions you need to ask, feel free. We're glad to have you with us.

Welcome from up north in the cold country of Canada.
I'm way over on the Pacific Ocean side.

You can never get enough of the Good Book.
I'm a kinda basic english keep it simple in terminology so I dive into the New King James version and get refreshed with the Message by Eugene H. Peterson. He has the old and new testament now.

Have fun and may you continue to be blown away cause each day is a new day with Him.
Get some good teachings on Spiritual Warfare. We are in a battle. Good to know the enemy.
