How Can You Love Somebody You Don't Like?

Why not Bunny...Like is emotional and love is action....Are feelings so important? I no longer remember
In my view, if I like someone it means I respect and trust them. And I choose to let them be part of my friend circle and life.

If that is absent, the respect and trust, because all loving relationships must begin as a friendship first, and then grows into a deeper level of trust and respect that moves from liking someone to loving them, then I can't feel love for them.

But if I don't like someone, I certainly don't love them. Because if I don't respect and trust them on the level of liking them, I certainly can't respect and trust them on the deeper level of loving.

Ok....So how do you obey Gods instructions to love everybody?

Ok....So how do you obey Gods instructions to love everybody?
I don't. Because we're not suppose to love everyone.
Hebrews were tribal people.
Their neighbor were other Hebrews. Other, "people of the book".

They loved their own, fellow believers. Not everyone.
Jesus didn't tell us to love everyone.

Imagine the historic scope of that implication.
The Christians whom Mao executed were to love him?

How about those Christian women who watched members of ISIS murder their babies before their eyes?

Christ like is God like when Jesus was God the Father.
God doesn't change. And God does not love everyone.

"Now therefore, kill every male among the little ones, and kill every woman who has known man intimately. But all the girls who have not known man intimately, spare for yourselves. "
Numbers 31:17-18

If I love everyone that marginalizes those worthy of love. Because to love a serial killer who made news, like Ted Bundy as example, as I do my sister would make my sister as worthy of love as is one who violated God's command, thou shalt not murder.

Should I love the pedophile as I love my dad and mom?

Does Jesus love the pedophile....answer is yes....and if he's good enough for Jesus, he's good enough for us....Where does the bible say to only love the nice guys....the bad guy is going to hell...as were you...Is there a difference between?

Can you love someone you don't like?
No.
I do not perceive that you have read any of the preceding posts - your posts here are uninformed and unscriptural.
You are confusing emotional love and affection with Christian love which is spiritual.
You are commanded to love others by Jesus whether you like it or not.

Matthew 5:43 Ye have heard that it was said, Thou shalt love thy neighbour, and hate thine enemy:
5:44 but I say unto you, Love your enemies, and pray for them that persecute you;
5:45 that ye may become sons of your Father who is in the heavens; because he makes his sun to rise on the evil and good, and sends rain on just and unjust.
5:46 For if ye love them that love you, what reward have ye? do not even the publicans the same?

Luke 10:25 And lo, a certain lawyer stood up and made trial of him, saying, Teacher, what shall I do to inherit eternal life?
10:26 And he said unto him, What is written in the law? how read thou?
10:27 And he answering said, Thou shalt love the Lord thy God from thy whole heart, and with thy whole soul, and with thy whole strength, and with thy whole mind; and thy neighbour as thyself.
10:28 And he said to him, Thou hast answered right: this do, and thou shalt live.
10:29 But he, desiring to justify himself, said unto Jesus, And who is my neighbour?
10:30 Jesus made answer and said, A certain man was going down from Jerusalem to Jericho, and fell among robbers, who both stripped him and beat him, and departed, leaving him half dead.
10:31 And by chance a certain priest was going down on that road: and seeing him, he passed by on the other side.
10:32 And likewise a Levite also, coming to the place, and seeing him, passed by on the other side.
10:33 But a certain Samaritan, as he journeyed, came where he was: and seeing him, had pity,
10:34 and came to him, and bound up his wounds, pouring on oil and wine; and he set him on his own beast, and brought him to an inn, and took care of him.
10:35 And on the morrow he took out two shillings, and gave to the inn-keeper, and said, Take care of him; and whatever thou spend more, I, when I come back again, will repay thee.
10:36 Which of these three, think thou, proved neighbour unto him that fell among the robbers?
10:37 And he said, He who showed mercy on him. And Jesus said to him, Go, and do THOU likewise.

Should I love the pedophile as I love my dad and mom?

Love for your parents (assuming your family isn't dysfunctional) would be
represented by the New Testament word phileo (fil eh'-o) which refers to things like
affection, fondness, loyalty, bonding, and preferences.

Love for pedophiles would be represented by agapao (ag ap-ah'-o) which typically
refers to things like courtesy, civility, sympathy, pity, kindness, and generosity,
which are loving behaviors that Christians are required to extend to strangers
and/or people they don't particularly admire.

Agapao is the kind of love that God extends to the world in general, while reserving
His phileo love for people and/or things that He's especially partial to.

God is famous for His lack of bias and/or favoritism in the application of His justice,
but when it comes to the application of His phileo; God is very picky.

Jesus loves the pedophile he sends to hell because the pedophile died in his sins?

Jesus doesn't love everyone. See all scriptures referring to his Elect. And the eternal fate of those who are not saved.

Is there a scripture where Jesus expressly says, "I love you." ?

Lastly, this needs to be pointed out, Jesus said love your neighbor as you love yourself.
He did not say, love everybody.

Jesus does not send anybody to hell....Everyone who goes to hell goes by their own choice...By choosing to reject Jesus and the salvation that He paid for, their only option is to follow their father the devil into his forever....Reject Jesus, you reject life and all that's left is hell and death.

Where is the scripture that says "I love you?" Really?! Start with John 3:16 Bunny, you really need to get to know Him. Never mind church, get to know Him!

You are carnally minded and walking in the flesh.
You do not understand the gospel of salvation and the love of God that all would come to repentance.
The elect - those born from above by water and Spirit - are called out of the world and recreated to become new persons: to walk in the light and in the Spirit.
Everybody else are captives of the satan who rules this world.
Jesus came into the world to set the captives free; if you have been fortunate to be set free then you have a command to freely share what you have received from God - forgiveness, grace and love.
You are supposed to be an ambassador for the Kingdom of God not a worldly person no different to others of this world.

Matthew 26:65 Then the high priest rent his garments, saying, He [Jesus] hath spoken blasphemy: what further need have we of witnesses? see, now ye have heard the blasphemy:
26:66 what think ye? They answered and said, He is worthy of death.
26:67 Then they spit in his face and buffeted him: and some slapped him,
26:68 saying, Prophesy to us, thou Christ: who is he that struck thee?
Matthew 27:22 Pilate said to them, What then shall I do to Jesus the one called Christ? All say, Let him be crucified.
27:23 And he said, Why, what evil hath he done? But they cried out exceedingly, saying, Let him be crucified.
27:27 Then the soldiers of the governor took Jesus into the Prætorium, and gathered unto him the whole band.
27:28 And they stripped him and put on him a scarlet robe.
27:29 And they platted a crown of thorns and put it on his head, and a reed in his right hand; and they kneeled before him, and mocked him, saying, Hail, King of the Jews!
27:30 And they spat upon him, and took the reed and smote him on the head.
27:31 And when they had mocked him, they stripped him of the robe, and put on him his garments, and led him away to crucify him.
Luke 23:33 And when they came unto the place which is called Skull, there they crucified him, and the malefactors, one on the right and the other on the left.
23:34 And Jesus said, Father, forgive them; for they know not what they do. And parting his garments among them, they cast a lot.

Autistic folk sometimes refuse to accept concepts unless those concepts are
expressed precisely in their own choice of words. If perchance you're on the
spectrum, then I can understand why you are so rigid in your thinking.

Jesus sacrificed his life for the whole world; not just part of the world, but
everybody who has ever lived, and everybody who will ever live, down to the last
born on Earth. That says quite a bit about how Jesus feels about me.

He may not like me-- at all. In point of fact Jesus just may quite despise me, and
candidly declare that I am not the kind of people with whom he cares to associate.
Nevertheless, Jesus went to the cross for me too in spite of his disgust for me as
a person.

Now, as I said-- in so many words --Jesus may not be especially fond of me, but
there's no doubt in my mind that he at least cares for me. So and I played upon his
Father's sympathies back in February of 1968 when I prayed a very selfish prayer
that went something like this:

"God; I know I'm a sinner. I would like to take advantage of your son's death."

Seeing as how Jesus gave his life for the whole world, then God couldn't very well
refuse my request; now could He.

Rom 5:6-8 . . Christ died for the impious. Very rarely will anyone die for a
righteous man, though for a good man someone might possibly dare to die. But
God demonstrates His own love for us in this: While we were still sinners, Christ
died for us.

In my walk in this world where ha Satan is Lord by Father God's will, I have come to encounter and even, understand through Jesus' peace, how those under the influence of Satan feel good when speaking down to Christians.

It feeds their innate carnal evil and damned nature to think they are able to throw barbs and arrows and thus breach the armor of God.
Their arrogance and pride will never let their eyes be open to the absurd folly of that.

As we read in the subject line of the OP, we are not expected to reach a consensus on the question posed.

The indwelt Christian has a personal relationship with The Word that became flesh and dwelt among us.
His word speaks to each one of us personally and guides us in the light of his righteousness.

Amen.

Satan no longer rules in the Earth....Look...God made the Earth and He was the ruler, God made Adam and gave him rule in the Earth...Adam bowed his knee to Satan and gave him rule in the Earth...Jesus came in the flesh, died, went into Hades, took the keys (Keys are symbolic of ruling authority) from Satan...Jesus gave the rule back to Adam....All done legally and in the open. That means that WE rule in the Earth and Satan has to bow his knee to us...Christians.
That's why Jesus had to be born of the flesh to come into the world...Satan was the legal ruler and God could not simply invade Satans turf...Our God made the rules and He does not break them...

Therefore you are commanded to love and to forgive.
And if you need to pray in the Spirit for help to do this then pray.
I often have and God heals my heart.
It helps first not seek to commit an act against another so as to later need forgiveness.

Offending repeatedly , thinking to ask forgiveness repeatedly afterward heals is living as a false witness.

Are you trying to say that because the world lies in wickedness that Satan is in control? You would be wrong...The world lies in wickedness because the world chooses to fall for Satans lies...just as Adam did

Are you trying to say that because the world lies in wickedness that Satan is in control? You would be wrong...The world lies in wickedness because the world chooses to fall for Satans lies...just as Adam did
That would mean Satan still has influence here, right?

Only though deception....You, as a Christian, have far more infuluence than Satan does.
Christians are no longer under the rule of Satan. However, that is not the case for the unredeemed.

God is ever Sovereign. This does not mean Satan is no longer a factor in the world. He was lord of this world before Jesus and in this world he remains.

Jesus conquered death and that realm is no longer in the power of the enemy for those who believe. Colossians 1.

Satan leads unbelievers to be deceived. Because he is still here. John 8.
