1 Hear the word of the LORD, ye children of Israel: for the LORD hath a controversy with the inhabitants of the land, because there is no truth, nor mercy, nor knowledge of God in the land.
2 By swearing, and lying, and killing, and stealing, and committing adultery, they break out, and blood toucheth blood.
3 Therefore shall the land mourn, and every one that dwelleth therein shall languish, with the beasts of the field, and with the fowls of heaven; yea, the fishes of the sea also shall be taken away.

In the Bible almost everything (especially history) comes in twos.
Thus Hosea is originally writing to the old Israel (northern kingdom) which was unfaithful to God and went a ******* with other gods and religion. But like much in prophecy the pronouncements against ancient nations/people are applicable in our modern times because of the continuity of Israel and Judah.

The 10 northern tribes of ancient Israel over the centuries migrated through the Caucuses around to the north of the Black Sea (the Cimmerians, dwelling in what is now the Ukraine). These peoples migrated into Europe from bout 100 AD through to the mjor invasions of the 5th century and populated Europe through their conquests.

Thus Israel becomes the Christian major Christian nations of Europe with Joseph being represented by Ephraim (Britain) and Manasseh (the U.S.A. 'brother' to Ephraim).
The prophecy above is true and applicable because Israel has become unfaithful to God/Jesus and both the Churches and the unGodly are in contempt of their heritage and in particular the legacy of the Reformation and the many Holy Spirit Revivals over the centuries.

Even here in Australia we have mainstream Christian churches more dedicated to social justice and political action thabn they are to promoting obedience to the Word of God. That's the domain of fundamentalists. Old fashioned believers.

MASS ANIMAL / SEA CREATURES AND FISHES / BIRDS / BATS / BEES DIE OFFS
This one has become a fairly recent phenomenon. During the last few years we have seen fish, birds and other animals die in huge numbers.
Since 2010, millions of fish have been turning up dead in lakes, rivers and the sea.
Also, birds have been dropping out of the sky in huge numbers. And we are seeing other unusual animal deaths all around the world.
Including, bees and bats dying in their millions.
There are animals dying all over the world today in huge numbers, due to the polluted state of the sea and air.
Millions of fish and massive numbers of whales and dolphins are washing ashore dead.
Birds are falling dead out of the sky, and millions of poultry are dying from avian flu. The animals of the land like cattle are also dying in large numbers from disease.
Although animals and fish have been dying all throughout history, we have not seen the massive consistent numbers that we are seeing today.

Dozens of cattle have died due to unknown diseases in Aliab area of Tonj North County in South Sudan’s Warrap State, according to a local official in the county.
Saiga Antelopes are dying off in hundreds mysteriously in Kazakhstan.
Nearly 8,000 common Murres (Uria aalge) were found along the shores of Whittier, Alaska, in early January.
Thousands [10,000] of giant squid or cuttlefish (Dosidicus gigas) have died in recent days on the coast of the island of Santa Maria,
located off the coast of the province of Arauco (Chile).
Oyster disease POMS confirmed at second Tasmanian location 30km from first site: lower Pittwater, Tasmania, Australia.
It killed all 2.5 million oysters at the lease.
Honey Bees die offs - Colony collapse disorder (CCD) is the phenomenon that occurs when the majority of worker bees in a colony disappear...
North America and Europe - losses in hive populations have been greater than 50% in places.
Millions of starfish and jellyfish have washed ashore polluting vast stretches of beaches.
Pilot and other various whales, fishes, Orcas and seals have all been washed up on beaches dead in large numbers.

Over the last few years from about 2013 onwards mass animal die offs are occurring in extraordinary numbers - hundreds of thousands per year.
The Earth is so polluted - so wasted - so damaged - so ravaged - so exploited by the sinful exploitation of humankind that the planet can no longer
sustain its own living ecosystems.

Mass Death of Seabirds in Western U.S. Is 'Unprecedented'

In the most shocking case of mass animal deaths to date, 337 endangered Sei whales have been found dead in Southern Chile.
According to Chilean news agencies. the whales were discovered by scientists on November 17, 2015, but only now has the mass death been reported to the authorities
(and leaked to the press). In May, in the same part of the Aysen region, biologist Vreni Haussermann discovered 30 dead Sei whales. Baffled scientists suggested
at the time that the deaths might have been caused by a virus, and promised to launch an investigation.
