Honor God, Honor due, Receive Honor

Rom 13:6 For this same reason you pay taxes, for [the civil authorities] are official servants under God, devoting themselves to attending to this very service.

Greetings Brothers and Sisters!!!! God is so good, it keeps me excited most of the day just thinking what a awesome healer he His, The one that provides for us, The one the protects us, and our loved one. He is more than able, and not a respecter of persons. What he has done for one, He will do for you, and even greater!!!!

Now, I would like to start of the the Normal.........."This is a big problem with Christians today." In this case though, it's a problem all over the World, not just Christians. It is also something that is going to possibly weaken or bring the Great USA down. I am not a doom and gloom end time type person, and run around crying that God is judging America. NO, I leave that for the negative folk, that need to understand. "PRAYER WORKS!!! HAVE FAITH!!"

There are things though, that God told us in his Word, that if we do this, then God is faithful and will do that. In this case, it's Honor!!!!

1Sa 2:30 Wherefore the LORD God of Israel saith, I said indeed that thy house, and the house of thy father, should walk before me for ever: but now the LORD saith, Be it far from me; for them that honour me I will honour, and they that despise me shall be lightly esteemed.

God said those that honor him, He will honor. Now I could be wrong, but wanting prayer out of schools, and wanting to keep God locked out of Government to allow all kinds of godless things is not honoring God. I mean, it's not honoring God with your government when you condone same sex marriage, and use the tax of the people to support it. Something is all wrong here. It's things like this that will remove God's protective hand from any country.

You can have the greatest army in the World, you can have the most technology, and cool weapons of war, but if God has his back turned to you, then all of that is in vain.

Honor is not something that is earned. Honor is something that is given because of the position someone has. If Governments were smart, they would honor God simply because he Happens to be the creator of all things.

Well, what does that have to do with you and me? That is easy. We as the Body of Christ need to be an example of what honor is. It starts in the home.

I don't know how many family men have yelled at their wives for not giving honor to them. This extends even to the kids. Listen!!!

"Bless God, I pay the bills around here, your going to respect me!!! if you like it or not!!!"

I don't want to burst your bubble, but statements like this are ungodly!!! Nobody has to honor you. Forced Honor is not even honor. Street gangs rail on about showing respect, Husbands cry out that they better get respect, and even customers at stores I have heard yelling about the lack of respect. Nobody should ever demand respect.

Now for those of you that feel disrespected, what have you done to make others want to respect you? If you are one that has to demand respect, then you have done some ungodly things to bring that on yourself.

If we always keep our word, Walk in love. Treat our wife and children as what they really are. Precious gifts from God. If a man will learn to hear God, and follow God for their family in all faith and power, then your family will respect you. That respect won't come because your such a great Guy. That respect will come because of your relationship with God.

Honor and respect won't last long if a person is focused on the man. If we learn to respect and honor What God does, Then honor based on who God honors will last, and not waiver.

We don't have to like a persons policies, or how the run things. If they have a position of authority, then we ought to respect that position. To not do so, will remove the blessings of God in our life.

2Pe 2:10 But chiefly them that walk after the flesh in the lust of uncleanness, and despise government. Presumptuous are they, selfwilled, they are not afraid to speak evil of dignities.

I just shudder when I hear Christians bad mouth the President of the USA. It is flat out lack of faith, and disobedience to the Word of God. In their small mind, they feel they have to warn everyone about the evils that are going on. People are not dumb, your not the special chosen one to warn everyone. We already know there are issues, but we dare not put our mouth on the ones in charge. It will just cut off our own blessings.

We are told to pray for those in authority, not bad mouth them.

Even Jesus said render unto Ceasar what is Ceasar's. Let me tell you, Ceasar was not a godly man. Not even close. If you don't like blessings, then go right ahead and speak evil of governments. For the smart ones though, keep your mouth closed!!!!

Ya, Ya, Ya, I heard you!!!!!!!! Respect and honor others, especially those in the Body of Christ.

When someone is talking to you, there is no such thing as Multi-Tasking. The wife has to reminded me of this from time to time. I can't be paying attention to graphs and charts in the markets, and listen to what she has to say at the same time.

In the past I would use the excuse that I could miss a several thousand dollar gain. I have learned there is no amount of money worth that disrespect. Money will always be there, but how you treat someone is key at that moment. When someone is talking to you, stop what your doing. That video game can be paused. Even playing online my own children have learned that when I walk in the room and ask something, it's time for all hands off the controller and listen. I try to respect them by seeing what they are involved in though before I speak to them.

Here are some I's that will help you keep this in mind.

INTRUDING

IGNORING, someone is a great form of disrespect. This generation has the term "WHATEVER" When someone says "WHATEVER" to me, I just smile and walk away. I can't force someone to respect me, and would not try. The Word Whatever, is a form of ignoring. It's ungodly, and even if you don't agree with someone, at least listen and smile. I hear youth use this term all the time, and I would like to beat it out of them. Laws...........laws............laws...... Oh well......

INTERRUPTING, is devilish also. I have been sharing God's word with someone and someone else walks up and just cuts in. Why do people do that? It's because they think what they have to say will just wow everyone, and without their input the rest of us could never get it figured out. YOUR NOT THAT SMART!!!! What you have to say can wait. When you cut someone off to get to that IMPORTANT PERSON, what you saying is that you have more favor and are more special to that IMPORTANT person than the one who was talking to them.
That is in your mind only. Wait for people to finish talking, then address the issue. Also, don't hover right behind the person they are talking to, While you wait. Back off!!!!

Just the other day a friend came and saw I was talking to some leadership at church. He just walked away. I noticed him out of the corner of my eye, and when I finished talking I went and found him. He told me that he did not want to interrupt. My friend was showing me honor and the person I was talking to.

INTRUDING, is another big issue. I can't stand when someone comes to my house and just starts doing the dishes. It's my dishes, leave them alone. I have had people come in and just start cooking. It's not that big a deal, but these people do not know what Honor is. Just don't go to someone's house and start helping yourself, and Keep your children under control.

When someone important is around like at a company picnic, or business function. Don't hang around that important person like you have known each other for years. Get away, back off. If they want to see you they will address you. My Pastor is know all over the World, but when I see him eating at the place we are, I just don't walk to his table and intrude on his dinner. I don't even get his attention and wave.
One time my Pastor and his wife came into eat at the Olive Garden where my wife works. She never said a word to them but paid for their meal. They knew who did it and came and thanked her. We don't know them personally, but Kieth and Phyllis Moore knew who my wife was, because they see us in Church.

Ah, a much needed post...
thank you for freshening my mind Brother, it has been a while
since I have heard something on the lines of this....
Most of the time I am quiet and hardly talk, and most people
notice this, and think that I have some sort of social disability.
But my secret is, there is so much anyone can learn when they listen
to whats around them.
I believe God gave us two ears and only one mouth for a reason...
This post is also excellent because it talks about even the smallest
things that people dont think about, like people saying 'whatever'
or cutting into a conversation. It IS rude, and not many know it is
a sign of disrespect...

If you dont mind, I would love to add some verses that would help
further knowledge on this subject:

Romans 12:10 Be devoted to one another in brotherly love. Honor one another above yourselves
Matthew 7:12 Therefore, however you want people to treat you, so treat them, for this is the Law and the Prophets.

1Peter 2:17 Honor all men; love the brotherhood, fear God, honor the king.

It is known that the tongue gets us in more trouble than most anything else.
If we all, including myself, learn self-control and say encouraging things instead of disrespectful and hurtful things, (which is really hard to do), it would impact the entire world.

Add away.

Add as many scriptures as you like Alex. We could use another 30 pages of truth on this subject of honor and respect, and only scratch the surface. (Maybe)

David's men risked life and limb to just get him a drink of Water from a special well in Bethlehem. All it was is water, but it meant something to David and his men knew that.

His men had to battle their way to just get to the water, and when they returned David poured out that water. He was not worthy enough to drink the water as the men put their lives on the line to get it. The only one David knew was worthy enough was the Lord. So David poured the Water out to the Lord.

To me that is real honor, and respect.

If the body of Christ would take heed to honor, and respect it would open the door for God to bless them. If we honor God, He said he would honor us.

People all the time tell me that "They forgot" NO, you don't forget. If it was important to you to keep your word, then you would never forget.

How many would forget to show up to collect a million dollars if it was one year away. I tell you, they would be there right on time if not early to collect.

Is not keeping your Word before God more important than a million dollars. Your very life is in God, your Protection, your blessings is in God. Yet you "Forget" that you were suppose to help another brother and sister in Christ, but still showed up a year latter to collect that money. That is a fool.
