Holy Spirit Commentary

Something the word "spirit" or "spirits" is talking about evil spirits.. Demons.
The familiar spirits you have listed above in post #16... Lev 19:31; and 2 Kings 21:6; are demonic spirits.
Mark 3:11; is another example. Matt 12:45; Luke 11:26; etc...

I said earlier that a small case "s" spirit was a human spirit... this isn't always the case. Sometimes
these are demonic spirits also.

I do not quite understand or agree with this idea that God, other than having lived in bodily form as Jesus, is a person like you and I. I think this topic of God being person-like is a different study entirely, but I'd be glad to do some research to share my ideas for another thread.

(I do not believe that any of us could even begin to fathom who God is, and how his image appears; the bible does offer some insight into this matter).

And yet the whole reason we were created... was to know Him. ( John 14:7; John 14:17; Phil 3:10; 1 Jn 2:3; 1 Jn 2:4;
1 Jn 2:13-14; 1 Jn 5:20; etc... )
In fact if He doesn't know us..... ( Matt 7:23; Matt 25:12; etc... )
We need to search for Him... Acts 17:27; Heb 11:6;

We don't need to know or understand everything about God. But we have to know enough about Him to differentiate between Him and false Gods and false Christs.

I have never studied before the many "names" of God
This is very interesting.

Revelation 19: 9 And he saith unto me, Write, Blessed are they which are called unto the marriage supper of the Lamb. And he saith unto me, These are the true sayings of God. 10 And I fell at his feet to worship him. And he said unto me, See thou do it not: I am thy fellowservant, and of thy brethren that have the testimony of Jesus: worship God: for the testimony of Jesus is the spirit of prophecy. 11 And I saw heaven opened, and behold a white horse; and he that sat upon him was called Faithful and True, and in righteousness he doth judge and make war. 12 His eyes were as a flame of fire, and on his head were many crowns; and he had a name written, that no man knew, but he himself. 13 And he was clothed with a vesture dipped in blood: and his name is called The Word of God. 14 And the armies which were in heaven followed him upon white horses, clothed in fine linen, white and clean. 15 And out of his mouth goeth a sharp sword, that with it he should smite the nations: and he shall rule them with a rod of iron: and he treadeth the winepress of the fierceness and wrath of Almighty God. 16 And he hath on his vesture and on his thigh a name written, KING OF KINGS, AND LORD OF LORDS.
Hebrews 3:1 Wherefore, holy brethren, partakers of the heavenly calling, consider the Apostle and High Priest of our profession, Christ Jesus;
Isaiah 9:6 For unto us a child is born, unto us a son is given: and the government shall be upon his shoulder: and his name shall be called Wonderful, Counsellor, The mighty God, The everlasting Father, The Prince of Peace.
Daniel 8:25 And through his policy also he shall cause craft to prosper in his hand; and he shall magnify himself in his heart, and by peace shall destroy many: he shall also stand up against the Prince of princes; but he shall be broken without hand.
Daniel 9:25 Know therefore and understand, that from the going forth of the commandment to restore and to build Jerusalem unto the Messiah the Prince shall be seven weeks, and threescore and two weeks: the street shall be built again, and the wall, even in troublous times.
Acts 3:15 And killed the Prince of life, whom God hath raised from the dead; whereof we are witnesses.
Acts 5:31 Him hath God exalted with his right hand to be a Prince and a Saviour, for to give repentance to Israel, and forgiveness of sins.
John 1:1 In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was God.
John 1:14 And the Word was made flesh, and dwelt among us, (and we beheld his glory, the glory as of the only begotten of the Father,) full of grace and truth.
1 John 1:1 That which was from the beginning, which we have heard, which we have seen with our eyes, which we have looked upon, and our hands have handled, of the Word of life;

Here are my thoughts
: God=Jesus=the Word=Faithful=True=Holy Ghost=Holy Spirit=High Priest=the Apostle=the Prince=Wonderful=Counselor=The mighty God=The everlasting Father=Messiah=Saviour=the Word of life

I would also like to note that I have noticed in many stories throughout the old testament, the foreshadowing of Christ to come.

Jesus does have many names, and titles. You left out a few... but that's a good start :)
Jesus is God... but God isn't only Jesus.
