Hi: I'm new on the site. I've been a believer for a long time, but have become frustrated in my faith lately. I have a child with special needs, and I've been pretty much eliminated from my church. No one wants her around it seems. Any help would be great

If there's anything you would like to ask or share please go ahead. I'm new here myself. Like all forums it's pretty diverse, (for want of a better word), but since you're a believer a long time you're probably quite savvy.
Sometimes the more we know the more frustrating and challenging life can become. But believers can build one another up.

God does not like disabled people. Don't go getting all mad at me, I am simply quoting God on this. Your church is right to reject her. All I can advise you to do is to pray hard and often and maybe God will show some mercy on her.

You are lost and have no clue about Scripture.
What you quoted has nothing to say about GOD "hating disabled people". For everything you speak against
the Word of GOD will certainly come back to you. You reap what you sow.

I am truly sorry for the difficulties that you are going through but don't let the lack of compassion or the ignorance of men shake your faith in God. For in Psalms 118:8 says that "It is better to trust in the LORD than to put confidence in man."
Not trying to make excuses for those in your church, but sometimes people don't know how to respond to those who have special needs because they are not equipped to handle these new experiences. I understand this for I work in an elementary school and see many new students who have them. I've seen autism, down syndrome, and others. I thank the Lord for placing me into new experiences to help me to grow and mature and learn to see with the Father's heart for these dear ones.
I pray that all barriers in your church will come down ... just like those walls in Jericho and that they will be equipped for the works of service, so that the body of Christ may be built up until they all reach unity in the faith and in the knowledge of the Son of God and become mature, attaining to the whole measure of the fullness of Christ. (Ephesians 4: 12-13)

Welcome, Jaucoin. It is unfortunate but true that many many "Christians" are Christian in name only, totally disconnected from the compassion of our Lord Jesus. I pray that you find comfort and support here that outweighs whatever negative comes at you.

Someone else I knew had this problem
There was a young man sitting on the steps outside a big church. Another older man walked up to the young man and asked him why he did not go inside the church. The young man replied "I am too sinful to go inside, they are all holy people in there". The older man replied "Do you know who I am". "No" said the young man. "I am the Holy Spirit and I have not been able to enter this church either, come with me." They left together.
Ask Jesus to help you find another church, He will answer!
