Last night Jesus came to me in a dream and said that in order to prove my faith I must sacrifice my youngest son.

I need help because i'm not sure what to do. I want to keep my faith without killing my son.

check out the 22nd chapter of genisis. God does NOT approve of human sacrifice. most likely the dream you had is not from God but from a devil.

here is the first part of Gen 22:12 And he said, Lay not thine hand upon the lad, neither do thou any thing unto him:

The word of God cautions us that the devil can apper as an angel of light 2 cor .11:14 ..I cant believe That the Lord would want you to do such a thing when children are so important to Him ...The only sacrafice needed was By Christ ,,Im Glad you choose to ask about this ..We ARE WARNED TO TRY THE SPIRITS .to make sure they are of God ...blessings and prayers for you to hear only youre masters voice ..O yeah...Hug on youre Child ..im sure that will mean quite a bit to youre child and the Lord also....Rev

P.S As i began to reread this post a question came to heart....HAVE YOU commited youre son to the Lord for service ..May be God wants you to trust Him For youre sons life and wellbeing ......?? A living sacrafice for God to use ....Rev

Tell that foul, lying spirit to leave in Jesus Name and do not receive such ungodly notions.

the starting point

The advice posted here is good. satan is a deceiver and he can appear as an angel of light (and his devils as ministers of righteousness).

There are devils named "Jesus." In fact, I know of a couple of drug addicts named "Jesus," as well. I also have several acquaintances who boast about their personal "spirit guides." These are devils which deceive 1) by offering wealth, status, knowledge, or other worldly temporal gain, or 2) by attempting to frighten you into either action or inaction. Because my acquaintances are unbelievers and thus do not know how to try (test) the spirits, they have left themselves wide open for a demonic takeover.

There are many variables that will impact whatever spiritual dynamic is presently operant in your life. For example, you may have, in your home, objects which have been consecrated to satan (without your knowledge) and thus give satan the right to rule, to set up strongholds, in your life.

The bottom line is, you must be born again in order to claim the authority that is yours in Jesus Christ to deal effectively with these supernatural entities. If you try to do it on your own, you will be defeated.

In one instance, God used Paul to perform miracles. Then the Jewish exorcists thought they too would have a go at casting out devils from a man. When they tried it, the evil sprit within the man said, "I know Jesus and Paul, but who are you???" Then the possessed man jumped on the Jewish exorcists, kicked their behinds, and forced them to flee naked and wounded out of the house.

Read the story for yourself:

And God wrought special miracles by the hands of Paul: So that from his body were brought unto the sick handkerchiefs or aprons, and the diseases departed from them, and the evil spirits went out of them. Then certain of the vagabond Jews, exorcists, took upon them to call over them which had evil spirits the name of the Lord Jesus, saying, We adjure you by Jesus whom Paul preacheth. And there were seven sons of one Sceva, a Jew, and chief of the priests, which did so. And the evil spirit answered and said, Jesus I know, and Paul I know; but who are ye? And the man in whom the evil spirit was leaped on them, and overcame them, and prevailed against them, so that they fled out of that house naked and wounded. And this was known to all the Jews and Greeks also dwelling at Ephesus; and fear fell on them all, and the name of the Lord Jesus was magnified. And many that believed came, and confessed, and shewed their deeds. Many of them also which used curious arts brought their books together, and burned them before all men: and they counted the price of them, and found it fifty thousand pieces of silver. So mightily grew the word of God and prevailed. (Acts 19:11-20 KJV)

If you are merely a "Christian" by name, and not truly born again in Jesus Christ, do this now. You must repent, which means to turn unto God. If God is as all-powerful as I claim he is, then he has read every word of these posts in here. Further, he knows what you and I are thinking at this very moment. I can't speak for you, but I know that I certainly don't want to be someone else's monkey. I want to walk in the truth. So the obvious answer is to drop to your knees and ask the Lord if he is for real, and, if so, to please forgive you for your sins and to come into your life as Lord and Saviour and to show you how to deal with the enemy.

This is the starting point.

Believe you just had a bad dream. Your son is precious to you as we are to the Lord. I would say pray, open your Bible and pray, talk to Jesus about the dream, he surely does not want you to sacrifice your son. Human sacrifice is NOT the Lord's way.

I do not believe this is what the LORD wants because if you kill your son that is murder and it will send you to hell, demons and your flesh can give dreams as well be very careful on this one!

Do you really believe that?

This question is so obvious I kind of smell a trap. Something like Nathan's parable to king David, saying "you are the man!" (2 Sam 12:1-14). I almost expect every Christian to give their answer, that this could not be of God, and the originator of the thread to reply, "then why do you believe it was of God with Isaac or Christ?"

How I deal with dreams and the like is unless I am given a clear confession of Christ I do not answer or respond (1 John 4:3); and view it as a prophecy, and togues without interpretation and one to dicipher(1 Cor 14:26-40).

Obviously God does not condone murder! (Gen 9:6). What does God receive by the death of one He Himself created? (Ezek 18:32). As for Isaac and Christ, the test was not whether or not they would kill for God or even die for God! Dying for someone is momentary almost a reactionary response; "lay(ing) down (one's) life," to "present your bodies as a living sacrifice," is much more difficult and meaningful. This is the likeness and image of God manifested through the example of Christ! The significance of these references then is that Isaac and Christ followed after the righteousness of God being "obedient unto death."

As far as Abraham's test, being commanded to sacrifice his son, the significance is to see that Abraham loved God enough to wager the promises and inheritance of God (which Isaac embodied because God's promises could not have been fulfilled without him) upon the obedience of God's Word; trusting in the righteousness of God even when there seems to be no way in which He can prove Himself faithful! In a way, this to is Abraham's "laying down of his life," for scripture says, "Therefore it is of faith, that it might be by grace; to the end the promise might be sure to all the seed; not to that only which is of the law, but to that also which is of the faith of Abraham; who is the father of us all,(As it is written, I have made thee a father of many nations,) before him whom he believed, even God, who quickeneth the dead, and calleth those things which be not as though they were. Who against hope believed in hope, that he might become the father of many nations, according to that which was spoken, So shall thy seed be.

And being not weak in faith, he considered not his own body now dead, when he was about an hundred years old, neither yet the deadness of Sarah's womb: He staggered not at the promise of God through unbelief; but was strong in faith, giving glory to God; And being fully persuaded that, what he had promised, he was able also to perform. And therefore it was imputed to him for righteousness. Now it was not written for his sake alone, that it was imputed to him; But for us also, to whom it shall be imputed, if we believe on him that raised up Jesus our Lord from the dead.."

God does not need assassins to kill for him or even martyrs to die for him, but those that love the LORD enough to do in tribute to Him as was required for their glory and salvation (i.e. to follow His Example which is righteousness)! Otherwise we ask God to serve us in a capacity that we were unwilling to do in service to Him! In which case of what use or meaning is our accoldaes of glory, if we will not serve but suggest that He must!

God asked Abraham to do this not because He actually wanted him to sacrifice his son, but to create a foreshadow of what He Himself was to do with Jesus.

See, we have no clue how much God really loves us. What Abraham was asked to do is to give us clueless humans a concrete understanding of the depth of His love when Jesus came to bear your sins and mine.

Felt the same way the day it was put up.
