I stumbled across this online community yesterday while doing a quick Google search looking for tips on how to talk to others about Jesus and my spiritual journey, specifically those who are close to me and don't yet really understand what I'm experiencing. I hope to gain some insight here to help me tell others in a way that doesn't scare them off but at least allows them to accept that this is what I have chosen for MY life. (I don't want to "push" anything on anyone; I was once someone just like them that would get cranky and go in the other direction if anyone tried to push something like that on me!)
Anyway, I'm at work right now, so I don't have an opportunity to go into much detail about myself and my spiritual journey, but long story short I was raised in a Lutheran family, faithfully attended Sunday School, Confirmation classes, etc, and although I always had a strong desire to have a deeper relationship with our Creator, I found myself stuck in a rut of "practicing religion." I'm not sure what finally made it click for me, but I had a revelation that God is about LOVE and living, and I have progressively gotten deeper into this relationship with Him and am now in "too deep to turn back" as I like to say, and I am enjoying every minute of this wild ride! I look forward to getting to meet some of you in this walk with Christ as well!
