I am a semi retired manufacturing engineer. I still run my industrial consulting business as well as a private tutoring practice for grade and high school math and science.

I am watching the news and trying to see what, if any, of it could fit in with end times prophecy. I have written a short story about the gulf spill relating it to the second trumpet judgment. I will post it here as soon as I have enough posts to add links since the copyright notice contains one to contact me for permission to re publish it.
Collecting rare technical and shop books
I have special discipline books going back to the 1800's. I have a six volume set of "modern Shop Practice" in mint condition from the very early 1900's as well as a copy from the prohibition era of a rare book "Henley's 20th Century Book of Recipes Formulas and Processes" Because of the time of publishing it is missing all the recipes for alcoholic beverages. Along the way I have also picked up a couple of non technical items such as a first edition, first printing of Edna Ferber's novel "show Boat". I found it at a garage sale for a quarter.
anything to do with cutting edge science
I receive several E-Zines like "Technology Review" from MIT. I also monitor the web site "Science Daily" among others. I can carry on a conversation on almost any subject from the early days of research by scientists like the Curie's to "Quantum Chromodynamics" without sounding like a complete doofus. My reading material includes titles like "The Origin of Consciousness in the Breakdown of the Bicameral Mind" By Dr. Julian Janes and "warped Passages" by particle physicist Lisa Randall.
Being of service to my church
I take care of the food pantry and work in the Wednesday evening children’s ministry and anything else I can be useful in.
Comparative theology
While I am not at a level with the big boys, I have studied things like Mormonism, Dianetics (the founding book for Scientology by L Ron Hubbard), Islam, Seventh day Adventism, Roman Catholicism, Eastern Mysticism, and several more.
I hope to become a regular contributor to these forums.
