Hello everyone! This is my first thread ever.

Hello I am so new. Not only to this website but to any kind of forum. I found talkJesus through a google search lol

Last year, for nursing school I moved to a very small country town in Oklahoma. I have made some great friends through church and school, but still I feel a bit disconnected to a larger world. I think it's so amazing that we can make friendships outside of our state and country with people who have different perspectives. And I just love to think about God's global church. Praises are being lifted up to Him 24/7! and He is right now speaking into the hearts of so many different people. We have so much to share with one another.

So for awhile now I've been looking for an online Christian community. Mainly just to meet Christians and talk about different things and be friends. Most of the sites I found were low quality Christian dating sites. Which I was kind of trying to avoid. One of the sites actually said it was for Christian friends and penpals but after I signed up I learned it was only about being friends with the opposite sex haha ... Like dating lol.

Anyway, about to give up I finally came across talkJesus and I have to say I am impressed. I look forward to participating in your community, getting to know some of you, and having the opportunity to talk with some who may still be searching for the answer, for Jesus

Welcome to the forum, Kara! Unfortunately, there are not many good forums for people who really love God and want to learn or share or fellowship with other believers. This is a better one of the few. May God richly bless you and you walk through these threads and posts with Him.

Hello I am in tornado ally and thank you for your prayer it is much appreciated I am so blessed there is a storm shelter at my house. When things get crazy all my neighbors, their pets, my pets, and I pile into it. Not sure anything can bring you closer to people faster than being packed shoulder to shoulder in a dark hole lol. All the while everyone's pets are scared, some howling and others trying to jump into your arms. It can be pretty humorous God is good and has always provided enough space for everyone. Through most storms we are laughing and joking and of course praying.


It is sobering to be reminded how powerful nature is. Have you ever experienced something like that? Earthquake, avalanche, storm. That made you think, "whoa I am definitely not in control of this." I am sure the disciples were absolutely amazed to fear when Jesus calmed the storm.
