So I am extremely depressed and mad at the world right now, and so my parents and grandma suggested that I try a faith, so I want to get acquainted with the whole Jesus thing and see where that takes me.

I figure this site is appropriate seeing as it's "talk Jesus", so I'm hoping that I can learn a lot from talking to you all. I have little spiritual experience, have not read much of the bible, and wonder if I need to read the bible to have faith and some sense of spirituality and connection to Jesus Christ.

I am not interested in the old testament, or literal interpretation of the bible. I enjoy writing, reading, philosophy, music, living a benevolent life, and seeing respect in all fellow human beings. I am currently in high school, taking many science courses, and I wish to reconcile my life with faith, science, spirituality, and philosophy.

I read a lot of books, I enjoy Orwell, Kant, Aquinas, Shakespeare and believe in hearing both sides of the story, even if they seem to oppose one another.

Grace and Peace

Welcome to talkJesus.

Sorry to hear how life's been treating you.
I use to suffer with really bad depression, I was losing weight and life really had no meaning. I can testify and say if it was not for my Lord and saviour I would have been dead. Giving my life to God accepting Jesus Christ into my life made a huge difference.

I didn't know what love was, until I read in the bible what he did for me. Dying so I can have life abundantly.

I tried to find happiness in different things and people, but there was no satisfaction. The emtiness was still there. Sorrow and sadness was the only thing I ate daily.

I am not interested in the old testament, or literal interpretation of the bible
Well my healng process started when I read the bible. The bible is not only about old stories Noah and the art, adam and eve..but it gives us a revelation of who we are when we accept Jesus. And the promises we can put out faith in.

Since I am in Christ, by the grace of God . . .
I have been justified - completely forgiven and made righteous (Rom. 5:1)

I have been bought with a price; I am not my own; I belong to God (1 Cor. 6:19-20)
I have been established, anointed and sealed by God in Christ, and I have been given the Holy Spirit as a pledge guaranteeing our inheritance to come (2 Cor. 1:21; Eph. 1:13-14)

I hope we can be friends.
Feel free to message me if you need to talk.

God bless and welcome.

Welcome to TalkJesus, Sorrow. Since I have a bi-polar friend, I understand a little of what you're going through. Its been tough on him and I'm sure its tough on you.

One thing I would suggest to you: Avoid putting pre-conditions on your exploration of Christianity. It creates barriers to spiritual learning, just as trying to tell your doctors what medications to prescribe for your bi-polar disorder would create barriers to your emotional healing.

I look forward to interacting with you.

Jesus is the only way to be happy

I have bipolar disorder. So, I have a lot of depression. I have learned to talk to Jesus when I feel myself feeling down.He is the only way I can stop the depression in my life. I'm not going to give you bible quotes because I want to tell you from experience. I got depressed when I was 23. It hit me so hard,I didn't know what was wrong with me. I take medication now and it helps a lot. My advice to you is first find a spirtiual on fire church, that believes in the Holy Ghost. Then start attending and listening to the preaching.Ask God to let the spirt of conviction come down upon you and save your soul. When you feel it you will know what it is.Jesus knocking on the door of your heart. Let him in when he knocks.Next find a good doctor and tell him or her about your depression and get some help. I did and I am a lot better. I will be praying for you every day.Come to live chat and talk to us. Lots of Love and Prayers, I care for you, Sis. Di
