Hearing God's Voice

OBEYING IT, That is one of the keys!
Most times we want to hear Gods voice
like Adam and even Paul. And I Believe
we can still today, But we sometimes don’t
even want to obey that which he has already
given us “His Word”. I Believe that when we are
faithful in that which He has given us “His Word”
we will soon start hearing His voice louder than ever

We should not harden our hearts and turn a deaf hear
to the small things God has spoking to us. If we want
to hear the BIG things, we need to be obedient in the small
things first!

My Pray for you all is that God will speak to you more today
than He spoke to Paul. Amen!

I have to say guys that I am leary of audible voices! If it is audible then that means it is an angel speaking. Angels are of two different realms, evil and godly. An angel of Light can go a long way in misleading people. The Holy Spirit speaks through your spirit illuminating the mind. And of course there is the wonderful illumination of the scripture. And just because something is good does not mean that it is the will of God for you at the moment. There is more to this thing of being led by God then what I am seeing posted here.

The human soul can be very deceiving and misleading. You can deceive yourself into thinking something is God but it is only yourself! And the human soul is very powerful. So it is wise to study much about the leadership of the Spirit. And experience does help.

And of course, we do all by faith.

Well, just some thoughts. Could write a book here I think.

Jesus is Lord!

How do you actually talk to God? How does everyone understand what he is saying to them? This is something I have always struggled with, at times I have thought I was hearing God's voice, but responded and things didn't turn out as they seemed? I'm confused, i've prayed about it and im still confused!! I want to do God's will, but I can't hear what he is saying.

Hi, 4ever_Thankful!

I have not heard an audible voice. I have heard the Lord speak to my heart. It is like buying a new car. Once you buy a certain make or model then you see it all over the road. When God speaks to my heart, I then see it throughout the Bible. "I am with you," and "I will take you through," are a few examples.

My husband has heard an audible voice. When he was a boy he lived in the mountains of Colorado. While siting on a bench at a bus stop he heard "Get up now!" He told me that it scared him. He jumped off the bench just in time. A car came around the corner lost control and ran over the bench.

Now that is the perfect example of an angel of God speaking to someone in an audible voice. Notice the instant obedience!

I have had nightime 'revelations' is what I call them anyway,
I have woken in the morning with words from the Bible
they have been said to me but I can't tell how, I just wake with
them on my lips to repeat,
the first words I was told I hadn't even read them from the
Bible so I know they were from God, I had to ask in Church
their meaning...
then a few months later it happened again, only differant words
it has happened like this to me 5 times now, I can't say I hear a
voice because I'm asleep, one time it was a thought I had
in my head but I didn't pray about it or even speak it to the Lord
but I got it answered still, told to read a passage John 10, 12
now I didn't know if it was to be John Ch10 to ch12 so I started
reading at John ch10 and when I got to ch11 first verse there
was the answer, so it was in John ch11V1 which was placed in the
very middle of the three chapters amazing, Praise Him.
The last 'word' I received was about something I was doing
being 'Pass remarkable' as if I were being corrected for this,
I wasn't being judgemental but was passing remarks and I was
being told not to. Yes we do have to take heed to what we are
being told too, Amen.

That's so awesome, that you've had that type of experience. I've noticed that when I wake up sometimes, there will be something in my mind, like a bible verse, and I take that as Him speaking to me. Alot of the times I wake up and will have a Christian song in my head, one that I' haven't heard in a long time, too! It's so wonderful and strange all at the same time! :)

Hey! We been through it as Christians.

I remember the one time, I was on a mission trip to Scotland
and ministered God’s word and song and it felt so heavy that night.

After the meeting, I saw a young girl in the corner looking a bit sad,
and I felt God saying in a soft soft voice, go and speak to hear, so
I went … Not sure if it was God or myself, but I went anyway.

Only to find out that it was her birthday, so I felt God saying get your
guitar and sing happy birthday to her and so I did. And I tell never
have I ever seen some ones eyes light up like hers that night.

Sometimes you hear His voice, and you think? It does not make sense
But as you have faith and move on it, God does amazing things!

Many times I have Heard God’s voice, But have not been sure, But
moved by faith and he has done great things in my life and in other!

Remember God will not ask anything that is against his word, and anything
that He thinks you are not able to do. In fact God can do anything through
anyone who is open to him

I pray God will speak to you loader than ever!!

Wow, that's awesome! I love hearing stories of God talking to people. It gives me goose bumps!

When God first spoke to me, I was in church on a mission trip (A Pentecostal Church), and I had been praying for the baptism of the Holy Ghost for ever it seemed like. And I went down to the alter to pray and I started crying for no reason. Well, when I was done crying, I got up and sat down in my seat watching everyone else pray. (I love watching people pray by the way, It's just one of those things I do, but I don't watch them if they go off by their self, it's just rude.) Anyway, and I was sitting there and I felt someone touch my shoulder and push lightly. It was a warm friendly feeling hand. I looked back and no one was there, but the hand was still pushing, then I heard God say, "Go back up there." and I was like "But I just prayed, people will think...." and He said "I said go up there, who cares what they think I'm telling you, go up there." So I got up, and when to pray, and needless to say, I got what I wanted, I soon found soul face-to-face with God, and my face face-to-face with the floor!

You have to know, that before this, I never read my bible, and I hardly prayed. I had only been saved for about 3 1/2 months then. But I know all I wanted was for God to touch me like He was all the other youth, and He did!
I stepped out on faith, and He blessed me.

Praise God
God Bless

I agree. The biggest revelation I've had recently is of the depth of deception the devil is capable of reaching in us. He can imitate very well. I feel its very important to seek counsel with older, wiser Christians as their experience and knowledge of the Word is helpful, but even the elect can be deceived. We are all victims of our weaknesses and passions. Only Jesus can set us free. Its so important for prayer and God has strategically placed the the body of Christ in a network all over the world, each of us a unique part of His awesome plan. We must be alert at all times and keep praying we won't be blinded by our human nature. Instead we should be inspired and uplifted by the Spirit. This can only happen when we're at total peace and quiet enough within ourselves to hear God speak to us. Its not always easy to acheive that, so then we need prayer. I find its a fine line between discernment and then forming judgement. God can reveal things to us, but we have a choice on how to deal with them. I find that God can speak to me directly through the bible. He may give me a scripture that I can't comprehend, but the meaning will unfold as moments, days, months, years pass. Its an infinite God we have. He is Love.

GirlforGod, 4ever_Thankful! and all of course,

I've been reading through this thread again.

you brought back memories for me, when my Dad died last year, I too knew the Lord wanted me to speak at his funeral, something I can't do is speak in front of people, I really can't, but I knew it was of the Lord, it was told me, 'get out of the boat, and take a step of faith' that's what I heard in my spirit, straight to my heart, it was a case of obeying, and my Dad gave me 3 things to tell all the family, and I wondered how to do this, individual or altogether, so then it was told me by the Holy Spirit in the church altogether, oh oh, not easy for me, but we can do all things through Christ who strengthens us. I did, and all the glory went to Jesus, my family, knew it was Him who held me up there at the pulpit, as they knew it just 'wasn't me' so that was a witness to them.

They saw many things from Jesus in me through my Dad dying, they saw how strong I was, now that wasn't me, I am an only daughter, no brothers even, always very shy, so the Lord used me a weak vessel and showed His strength, Hallelujah.

As I posted before the ways of my 'hearing from the Lord' it is awesome, and doesn't happen very often, guess thats what makes them very special.

I have them all written down, so I won't ever forget them, it's lovely to recall them.

We need much patience though, to be still and wait on the Lord, I have not heard an audible voice, it's mostly reading the word, speaking to my spirit impressing it on my heart so much so that you just can't ignore it.

Isn't He just so wonderful, how sweet the name of Jesus in a believer's ear.
