Healing Services?

Are people really being healed at these services? Some I have watched on YouTube look demonic and the people looked possessed more than anything. I like to listen to sermons on the radio, but one preacher just goes on with these stories about all these people he has healed from sickness, paralyzation, etc. Can someone give me some scriptural evidence that this is a spiritual gift? Thanks!

In the Old Testament Leviticus 13 anyone who had skin disease was considered ceremonially unclean and was quarantined for further observation. vs 11

What is leprosy? A skin disease.

Matthew 8 speaks of a man with leprosy who walks up to Jesus falls on his knees in worship and says "Lord, if you want to you can heal me." Jesus replies "I do, Be healed!"

I believe that is Jesus s heart when it comes to sickness and disease.


A thought for sickness is sick people can't and won't preach if they are sick.

1 Peter 2:24 says by His stripes we are healed. Is it talking about the spiritual or physical healing?

Take a look a Isaiah 53:4

Yet it was our weaknesses he carried;
it was our sorrows[a] that weighed him down.
And we thought his troubles were a punishment from God,
a punishment for his own sins!

If you take a look at John 9:2 (as well as other places) you learn sickness comes from our sin. Why is why Isaiah 53:5 says

5 But he was pierced for our rebellion,
crushed for our sins.
He was beaten so we could be whole.
He was whipped so we could be healed.

You see the beating he went through was for our sins and because he took a beat for our sins he took our sickness and diseases. But how do we know that it was physical and not the spiritual?

Matthew 8:17

This fulfilled the word of the Lord through the prophet Isaiah, who said,

“He took our sicknesses
and removed our diseases.”

At this moment he took upon his body our sickness and diseases. As well as shows that 1 Peter 2:24 speaks of his stripes because he was beaten for our healing.

Hebrews 9:28

so also Christ died once for all time as a sacrifice to take away the sins of many people. He will come again, not to deal with our sins, but to bring salvation to all who are eagerly waiting for him.

He came to take away our sins and in doing this took a whip to his back (John 19:1) In doing this we were healed for good.

There are multiple cases of Jesus using healing.
The same Spirit gives great faith to another, and to someone else the one Spirit gives the gift of healing. 10 He gives one person the power to perform miracles, and another the ability to prophesy. 1 Corinthians 12:9-10 states it as a gift of the holy spirit

I have no doubt that sometimes they are healed. Some may be setups, frauds, and the like, but there is real healing, its according to Faith, and Gods Will!!

Thank you both! Corinthians 12:9-10 clearly states healing is a gift of The Holy Spirit, that's exactly what I needed to see! I feel bad for those who give a false witness to the healing power of Jesus Christ, and feel even worse for those, especially children, who thought they were going to be healed and weren't. But Jesus is just and will for sure give them true healing.

Would just like to share something with you

My youngest daughter, now 22 months old, was born prematurely and had multiple problems including 2 heart defects. She faced the prospect of future surgery for one of them. Prayers have been raised from around all the world for her.....prayers believing that He is abundantly able. At her last specialist appointment just a couple of weeks ago her scans and tests revealed no abnormalities whatsoever

To God be the glory and Him alone for all healings.....(no healing service needed, no church needed, no hyped up emotions......just prayer to our almighty Lord and King!!)

Said I not unto thee, that, if thou wouldest believe, thou shouldest see the glory of God?

Healing the flesh body is a really hard subject ? I been healed many times as well as my family! It is by Faith and yet Many do not get healed ! I know it not always because of there lack of faith ! Not sure why some are healed and others are not? I believe it could be many reasons ?

but I have beed dead twice! We are dead , when Our Spirit leaves this body ! I prayed both times to come back !
I prayed and seen people healed and prayed and Not seen people healed at that time ?

Everyone Jesus healed when He walked in His flesh were unsaved people ! There was no born -Again , until He rose from the Dead ! So even the unsaved can be healed from flesh problems !

Heb 9:17 For a testament is of force after men are dead: otherwise it is of no strength at all while the testator liveth.

He has told us a number of ways to be healed !

Praying for each other , Fasting , Going before the elders , and even praying for ourselves! !

I guess ? I been healed all those ways ? But I know I am NO man of great Faith ! And No more than any in the true unseen church which is His Body !

Compelling stories! I love to hear of the miracles Jesus performs in the present. My coworker was telling me some of her own stories about health-related miracles today too. About sin and sickness... in John 9:3, Jesus said the blind man, whom He was about to heal, was not born blind because of his sin nor his parents sin, but so the work of God might be displayed in him. So while some disease is due to sin, some disease isn't. Fragrant Grace, Hallelujah!!!!!!! THE POWER OF PRAYER IN JESUS' NAME!!!!!!! What a privilege, what a gift, and what a power that can be done in secrecy or in the thousands! Do you pray on the go when it's fresh in your mind?

Love gives us the correct reasons why we want what we want ?
It cannot be a selfish or self centered reason ! It must be for His glory and honor !

Many want for the wrong reasons ?

Many Do not understand it not abouit us or our desires toward life , too please ourselves !

We are not the center of all life ! We are the Created ! He alone is Creator !

Rev_4:11 Thou art worthy, O Lord, to receive glory and honour and power: for thou hast created all things, and for thy pleasure they are and were created.
Why are we here ? why were we Created ? For His Pleasure! It about HIm , not us !


He allows all this evil on the earth , so we can be under grace! But that going to end soon ?

Once the world no longer under grace? then His wrath falls upon it ! It by His LOVe and Mercy He has allowed it this long!

Heresy is greater than it ever has been in the Christian faith so we need to be careful in what we believe to be real. you completely misunderstood me. i didn't say Jesus used His faith to do it but i can see how i said that to be interpreted i was saying that Jesus healed by others faith just like faith healers of today. GO lay hands on the sick in my name and they will be healed. <---the bible is asking for faith healers. So you are calling the bible false by saying all faith healers are false. Faith healers simply do what Jesus said today. Not All of those claiming to do so are true. But every message has false teachers. Nor did i say anything about having faith in todays faith healers but the woman with the issue of blood put faith in Jesus like we are to do so. So again faith healing is simply the laying of hands believing that they will be healed.

Listen Our LORD was and is our Example! God put Faith in our LORD ! God created all things by Love and Faith !
God puts Faith in every person born into this world!

When the LORD bought back people from the DEAD ? Did the people use there faith to come back ? Or was uit the LORD Faith that bought them back !
did my Son who was a baby , know by Faith HIs Spirit was going to come back to His body ? Or was it my Faith in My father God thur JESUS CHRIST that caused His gone Spirit to return to his body ?

But I do know it worthless to pray for people who do not have faith in miracles !

I ask people ? Do you believe You can be healed right now ? If they say I do not believe ? then i do not waste there time praying for them to be healed !

Jas_2:26 For as the body without the spirit is dead, so faith without works is dead also.
This scripture Means ? Faith needs a ACTION in order to work! It does not work alone !

GOD action for creating all He ever created was LOVE! Love does action ! Saying I LOVe means nothing ! Revealing a Action shpowing I LOVe means everything !

Joh 3:16 For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have everlasting life.

The Laws of His kingdom are LOVe and Faith ! Without Love and Faith , nothing you do is eternal !It worthless !
Many do works on this planet that will have No rewards , because it done for the wrong reasons !

Only those things done out of Faith and LOVE will be rewarded !


2Ti_1:13 Hold fast the form of sound words, which thou hast heard of me, in faith and love which is in Christ Jesus.

You cannot separterate LOVE and Faith from JESUS CHRIST! They are a part of His very being and ours !

If you do not see it this way , It ok ! That the way I see it !

Jesus has power that we do not, and cannot have, He is God and created all things. He gives us power and gifts through The Holy Spirit, but we cannot do all of the things He did while He walked the earth because we have the Holy Spirit. Yes some of us are gifted with the power of healing, but not all of us. Jesus was human, but He was also God. To say Jesus was merely human with The Holy Spirit in Him is to say we are all as equally powerful as Jesus, given that we have The Holy Spirit. We cannot feed 5000 with a fish and loaf of bread, turn water into wine, or make someone live after being dead for 4 days. Only Jesus could perform these miracles so he could show us He was really the Son of God. Jesus did not bring Lazarus back from the dead because of the faith the other people had in Jesus. Actually, they all doubted He could do it. Mary didn't even want him to roll away the stone because of the bad odor, if she had faith he could really do it then that would be the least of her worries. Jesus used His power to show people who He was, not because people gave Him the power to do it, and especially not to teach us that we will have the same power as He does.
