It's true that "many are the afflictions of the righteous, & the Lord delivereth him out of them all" (Psa.34:19), but sometimes you have to meet certain conditions before the Lord will deliver you.

Whenever He doesn't deliver you & He allows the Devil to still plague you & to leave a thorn in your flesh, it's for a purpose, & He won't deliver you until you obey. If you're not willing to pay the price God requires for healing, He won't heal you! Only the obedient get healing. Health is a special blessing of God. You can only ask & expect it in prayer if you're obedient to the Lord. But if you're disobedient you can't expext anything!

Once God's forgiven you & healed you, then you'd better be sure you stick to the limits & the regulations & the rules & His Will & whatever conditions He has laid down, knowing that your health & well-being depends utterly on Him!

When you're healed, just remember it's a special blessings, a priceless privilege, which He can take away if you don't keep trusting Him for it & giving Him all the glory! So stay close to the Lord & do the things that He healed you for!--Use that strength that God gives you for His glory!

Please pardon me if I am wrong but I sense in your post some of the same characteristics of the "word of faith" movement.

I know of some very healthy unbelievers too. I am just not comfortable with your statement about demanding from God. It seems that you are saying that when you are obedient that somehow it elevates you to a positon where you can demand God to do something. I don't agree with this in the very least.

Matthew 5:43-45
43*“You have heard that the law of Moses says, ‘Love your neighbor’* and hate your enemy. 44*But I say, love your enemies!* Pray for those who persecute you! 45*In that way, you will be acting as true children of your Father in heaven. For he gives his sunlight to both the evil and the good, and he sends rain on the just and on the unjust, too.

I have read many books by authors who matured spiritually to which I can not compare with any today and yet they were afflicted in their physical health. I have no doubt of Jesus' healing abilities, but I find the that the "word of faith" teachings to be more focused on a kingdom being formed here in the earth and pleasing the flesh. I just don't see much of the denying self and taking up crosses going on within that movement.

Why are you looking for something that is not said? Who are "word of faith"? Maybe my wording is not correct English, but pardon my ignorance then. English is my second language. I have changed the wording to ask & expect. Is that satisfactory?

I can't assume that because someone is sick that it is because of sin. That would be judgement, and unfair.

When Jesus healed someone (I left my Holman bible at bible study last night)
they asked him why the boy had been sick and Jesus told them essentially, that God had allowed the boy to be sick in order for Jesus to heal him on that day, and give glory to God.

Dreamer what you said is and make sense. All that happen then was to glorify Jesus. They were just to blind to see who He was. We are still like that today in our daily lifes, we are to blind and self centered to see Jesus around us. It sometimes need something to happen in our lifes to wake us up to the Lord.

Yes Zulu that is better, but I still don't agree with you on the lack of healing being the lack of obedience. Jesus told many that their faitn nad made them whole.
