He Who Lets

Read Matthew 11:1-19 and if the Holy Spirit tells you the truth of it, you shall know. Its not important that we as Christians know this, Jesus said it for the sake of praise to John the Baptist.

He is not Elijah, he is John, just as his father named him, but he had the Spirit of Elijah. Who are we, beings of flesh, or beings of spirit currently housed in flesh? John spoke the truth about himself in honor of his parents who raised him, but his spirit knew the truth. And so did Jesus.

There ya go! So John was John and he operated in the same spirit as Elijah......Same as we can. Right? Didn't you also say he came back? John came back?

The Spirit of Elijah is not some earthly bravery, or fierceness of holy speech. That is some man made story to explain away what Jesus and John said and give us all who desire, the courage of Elijah. The spirit of Elijah is just what it says, the "spirit of Elijah". Our bodies die but once, and for most, that's all our spirits have to reside on the earth in bodies made of flesh. But for some who have never tasted the first death of the body on this earth, the spirit can return to a body of the Lord's choice. The core spirit was the spirit of Elijah, but the memories and the loves and the fires of the new life that shape us make us a bit different than the original. Some memories, some dreams, bring back a wondering of "I wonder if..." , but the core spirit has proved itself once and can be trusted to prove true again and be a good prophet like John. The same will hold true for the 2 prophets of old as fortold.

???????????????????????? So you're saying that John the Baptist was a body occupied by Elijah?

No, the life experience of John made him John, but his core spirit was that of Elijah. We all receive a spirit sometime after conception I would guess, so instead of a new spirit with a blank slate, John the Baptists spirit was that of Elijah that probably didn't even realize who he once was until much later in life. Did you read the passage I spoke of and prayed about it?

The Holy Spirit had not come yet; Jesus was walking with John. But within John was the spirit of the prophet Elijah. Why would you want the spirit of Elijah when now we have the Holy Spirit?

Yup I read it... And prayed about it too....

The Holy Spirit was in the world since the dawn of time

The Holy Spirit was in the world since the dawn of time
The Holy Spirit's role in humans life changed greatly after Christ. Before it was mostly upon some people who had wisdom enough to seek the wisdom of God. After Christ, the Holy Spirit made the home internally in the hearts of believers. Why is it you are so strongly against this idea? Because of one verse by Paul and one sentence by John and what men say it means? Did the Lord deny the truth of this to you after you prayed about it?

More like Elijah and John were operating under the same anointing, the same mandate..Elijah's mandate was to anoint (two kings and a prophet) to lead.....John's mandate was to anoint for salvation... So it was not Elijah that was working through John but John working under the same anointing as Elijah

What man taught you this? Do you trust them to know the truth more than the Holy Spirit?

Acts 1

And while stayinga with them he ordered them not to depart from Jerusalem, but to wait for the promise of the Father, which, he said, “you heard from me; 5for John baptized with water, but you will be baptized with
the Holy Spirit not many days from now.

So the disciples had to wait for the Holly spirit to arrive to them.

What you say of the Holy Spirit is true...He, in the Old Covenant would come upon a man in order for God to accomplish a work that only He could do....In the New Covenant the Holy Spirit comes into a person, permanently...totally enmeshed in the person, so then that person is a whole new creation, one that never existed before, as counselor, teacher, mentor etc. I have no problem with what you say here at all.
What man taught you this? Do you trust them to know the truth more than the Holy Spirit?

NO man taught me this my brother...The Holy Spirit taught me...and yes...I do trust Him

The Holy Spirit taught me what I spoke to you here. So one of us is obviously mistaken, and assuming the Holy Spirit is teaching us. I pray the Holy Spirit would rebuke the one of us mistaken. Do you agree?

LOL Well Not rebuke, more to correct.

So it shall be, correction so that we know it! Where two or three gather in His name, Jesus will testify to it!
