He First LOved Us.....only 4 words but a wonderful story embraced therein, for these words tell us about the first thing that ever there was. The beginning of everything that we know today.
"he first loved us" These words are speaking about God and they say that the first thing Almighty God did....was to love. Love is the nature of God for "God is love" The sun would illustrate this because the first thing that the sun ever did was to shine....shining is the nature of the sun...it could not do anything else....shining is the nature of the sun
Gods nature is love....the bible says He loved you and I.....and that is amazing. No higher peak than this .......
The Renunciation that this love made...... He dwelt in the heaven if heavens..in Gods habitation throne room....Billions sang His praise...Surrounded by the panoply of eternal glory, participating in the depths of Deity...He was in the Father bosom...."In the beginning was the word...and the Word was with God, and the Word was God" Jesus left all this....He humbled Himself.......Phil 6 Out of the ivory palaces.....
The Length of the Road this Love Travelled How far did this love travel.....what sort of journey was undertaken......It began in past eternity...it ran into time...Did not start in Creation...but in the isolation of Gods eternity...No angels there for they are created beings...began before all else.....and broke through the barrier from eternity into time.....WE cannot measure the length of the road...from splendour to shame..from light to darkness......ect
The Object Upon which it was set What was the object of the Saviours love? You and I and all mankind.....The human heart is obstinate, careless, deceitfull above all.....Jer !7:9 He knew men would reject,...smite...pluck His hair...lash His back...wound with nails.....let Him die
Measure this LOve by the DEpths it Plunged....He descended into hell and plumbed the depths of depravity and pain and abandonment from God......the bottomless place...no light...no love...no fellowship......Jesus said I will go...He plunged the depths....He drank that cup.....Do yopu want to measure His love.....Measure it by the depth into which it plunged
Measure by the Length of Time he Stands at the Hearts Door
For many ....standing a long time...Knocking with nail pierced hand at their hearts door...He is the Saviour of Gethsemene's bleeding....He stands at the door....He first loved us
Measure this love by the height to which it ascended.....death could not keep its pray...Jesus my Saviour....He tore the bars away Jesus my Lord....Up from the grave He arose....leaving death and hell gasping behind Him....Exalted now to the highest place...Through what He has done we have access to the the Father...."in Him and through faith in Him we can approach with confidence.....But "He first loved us"
Can we say today, honestly, soberly, sincerely, with head bowed to the heavens and soul uncovered.....'I love Him'...in return...because he first loved me.........?
