Bel boweth down, Nebo stoopeth, their idols were upon the beast's, and upon the cattle: your carriages were heavy laden: they are a burden to the weary beast. They stoop, they bow down together: they could not deliver the burden, they themselves are gone into captivity
Isaiah 46 v 1/2

Bel was the chief domestic god of Babylon, worshipped also by the Phoenicians, Moabites Canaanites and others. Bel was the god or idol used in the worship of the sun. Nebo was supposed to be a god idol who recorded all earthly events, and other pagan ideas.

Bel and Nebo, these are the god's of Babylon, Babylonish god's and they are being transported along, carried upon the beast of burden. Carried upon the back of the stumbling oxen. The beast stoops..... Bel bows down, the other beast stumbles and Nebo stoopeth. The gods of Babylon being bourne along rocking two and fro as the journey proceeds

Hearken unto me O house of Jacob, and all the remnant of the house of Israel which are bourne by me from the belly, which are carried from the womb: and even to your old age I am He: and even to hoar hairs will I carry you. I have made and I will bear, even I will carry and I will deliver you
Isaiah 46 v 3/4

God is informing His people that we do not have to carry Him. He carries us. Hallelujah. He has carried us from the womb, and even to old age I am He that carries you, .......and even to hoar hairs will I carry you.. I have made and I will bear, even I will carry and deliver you. Wow. How wonderful is that. He carries us, blessed be His mighty Name. Can we believe it? Can we cast our burden upon the LOrd, whatever that burden may be, knowing that he says that He will carry us !

To whom will you liken me, and make me equal, and compare me that we may be like? v 5

1 Men take gold out of a bag v6
2 Weigh silver in a balance
3 Hire a goldsmith
4 He makes a metal god
5 Men fall down and worship it
6 They bear it upon their shoulders and carry it v 7
7 They set it in its place
8 From its place it cannot move again of its-self
9 Men cry to it and get no answer
10 They call upon it for deliverance from trouble, but deliverance never comes.

To whom will you liken me? God challenges comparison of other god's with Himself

Ch 45 v 21 "There is no god beside me" V22 "Look into me and be ye saved all the ends of the earth, for I am God and there is none else. I have sworn by myself, the word is gone out of my mouth in righteousness. That unto me every knee shall bow"

Ch 41 v 10 "Fear not for I am with thee, be not dismayed for I am thy God. I will strengthen thee, I will help thee, I will uphold thee with the right hand of my righteousness. All that were incensed against thee shall be ashamed and confounded, they shall be as nothing"

Ch 40 v 29 "He giveth power to the faint and to them that have no might He increaseth strength" Amen

What ever your situation today, and mine also. Let us look to the Lord God Almighty....He upholds us, lifts us up each day "even to your old age, to hoar hairs will I carry you"

Amen.
