Have I Told You? - February 10, 2007
Have I told you that I love you, and how special you are to me?
Do you know exactly what I feel for you,
and that when I'm in your presence I feel joyful and free?
Have I told you of all the wisdom you have passed on to me over time?
Ah, the things I took for granted, but now they are no longer mine.
I miss the little things about you, and I'd give anything to again see
the smile of your face, and your arms wrapped around me.
But, you are now gone, and it is too late; was it an accident, or was it fate?
Death came quick, and now here I stand; reaching out and hoping you will take my hand.
I wish I could turn back the hands of time, but that simply cannot be,
so I am left to wonder,
"Have I told you that I love you, and how special you are to me? "
Real Life Application: There is an old saying that goes, "Absence makes the heart grow fonder." The reason this is, is because it seems a common occurrence to better appreciate the good we had when it is no longer around. In short, we tend to take for granted life's many blessings; including the gift of love.
As we enter into a new year, let us resolve to make truth and love reign supreme in 2007. May we leave no loving word thought of, unspoken, and let there be no unfinished business; for the time to speak and show the truth of our love to friends and family is now!
Today is the day to set aside petty differences, and long-held bitterness; to release things of the past we cannot change, and to embrace the present and future by starting anew!
Likewise, we must not delay reaching out to or making amends with our heavenly Father, God, for He alone, is the original source of truth and love.
