A tiny Chapel, normal congregation 12-20 but today there were only 5 including me! (Whenever 2 or 3 are gathered in my name , said Jesus!) so we had a Bible Study with worship. (unfortunately the organist was ill so they had to put up with my inexpert piano playing but they sang lustily from the heart!) As I knew each of the congregation it was a relaxed time in the presence of our Lord, following the short passage from Luke 13 31-35. I have to trust that asking questions about each verse meant that everyone there (including me) learned something about the situation (Jesus Journey to Jerusalem) and about themselves. Psalm 27 and Psalm 23 also figured in our worship so plenty of opportunity for God's word to speak.

Probably there are many such small congregations these days that really touch and are touched by the Lord. How meaningful to God is a large group of people of hundreds or even thousands whose supposed purpose is to worship, but are not really gathered together in His name? Similarly the place I attend regularly is about the size of yours and sometimes a group as small as five are all that come together. Nevertheless, the important thing is never the physical number of people present, but rather that the hearts present are filled with the Holy Spirit, holding fast onto what God has given them and sharing what they have with all of those who are around them. Give God always all of the glory! Praise His holy precious name!
