Howzat, my friends,
I am new here, I probably won't be very active in the forum at the start as I am in the middle of my 2nd year CA final exam. However, I look forward to interact with fellow Christians from around the globe, and to have many a fruitful conversation.
The reason I joined this forum was mainly because I need a little help coping with the people on my campus. My faith is as strong, if not stronger, as it was when I became born-again, but I find it hard to answer some of the skeptics amongst my friends. But I also wish to strengthen my relationship with Jesus in the future, by utilising this forum.
Many of my friends, I do sincerely believe, are merely willingly ignorant. 2 Peter 3:5(KJV) says 'For this they willingly are ignorant of, that by the word of God the heavens were of old, and the earth standing out of the water and in the water'
My interpretation of the phrase 'willingly ignorant' is that they are acting 'dumb on purpose'. Today, I really felt they will jump at any old silly excuse to dismiss the Bible as fiction. Why? Because one of them read about unicorns in the Bible, and when he mentioned it to the group, one of them said 'That proves the Bible is fiction'. I had to control my anger right then and there to prevent myself from doing something irrational!
I ask that you will think of the students that are now busy with their final exams, it is a very difficult time for us, and we really need all the support we can get.
