Hello, dear people of talkJesus forums. My handle is Helios, and i am a visitor here.
As my bio will show, I am not a Christian, but a Buddhist. Which then begs the question, why am I on this forum?
I am here to learn and to offer a chance to convert me. I feel comfortable in Buddhism, but not completely, and I believe that if I have chosen a religion that does a disservice to me and my fellow men and women, that I can only know that by seeing how other religions benefit others. I do not come here with a hard heart, and I hope that by asking questions and reading your discussions I might find that Christianity is far more suited to my spiritual needs.
In return, I wonder if evangelism is an important value here. While I am one Buddhist, there are many more, and by asking me questions about my spiritual thinking and my religion, those who are interested in converting Buddhists over to your way of thinking will be better informed on the best way to do that.
For instance, by talking to me you might discover that Buddhists value compassion, and may then choose to appeal to their compassion when preaching to them.
Whether I am welcomed here, or given the cold shoulder, I wish you all well.
