Testimony Green Cloud Without Pictures

15 April 2019 by Alan McDougall

Many years ago my brother in Christ Jesus Tony Martin and I took a trip to Newcastle in Natal. On the way back we testified to a boy at a farm then we drove further and erected an altar made out of rocks in honour of our Lord God Almighty. Driving further Brother Tony said what is that stop the car?

We both got out of the car and Tony looked into the sky and wept. What we saw was a vivid green cloud that remained stationary anfa did not move in the sky like the other normal white puffy clouds were doing

This beautiful strange green cloud was fringed at its edges with a pink curtain.
Around the cloud were the colours of the rainbow both in the blooming cosmos flowers and in the green pink lined cloud itself

It was Autumn (Fall) the time that the beautiful cosmos flowers bloomed in the green green grass at the side of the road in the colours of the rainbow. The beautiful green cloud was almost an exact copy of the cosmos flowers below? That was 44 years ago and we both did not know what the cloud was or from where it came. I said to Tony if we tell our wives about it they will not believe us and my wife Denise just said you mistook a normal cloud as something odd?

In the last week God began to bring the memory of this event back into the memories of myself and Tony at almost the exact same moment of the day, Tony asked his son Robert what he thought the cloud meant? Robert said he thought it was a message from God and I have revised the event asking God the meaning of it all?

And God impressed into my heart that it had enormous symbolic meaning about the days we live in during the 21st century which both of Tony and I did not think we would live to see?

Below is my start in unravelling the mystery with the guidance of the Holy Spirit

Last night I heard the voice of God singing over and over again “You will be blessed, I promise you will be blessed I promise you-you will be blessed Last night I heard the voice of God singing over and over again “You will be blessed, I promise you will be blessed I promise you-you will be blessed

Last night I heard the voice of God singing over and over again “You will be blessed, I promise you will be blessed I promise you-you will be blessed Last night I heard the voice of God singing over and over again “You will be blessed, I promise you will be blessed I promise you-you will be blessed!

Behold, He is coming with clouds

Behold, He is coming with clouds, and every eye will see Him, even they who pierced Him. And all the tribes of the earth will mourn because of Him. Even so, Amen. Revelation 1:7 NKJV

In this verse we see Christ coming with clouds, and every person on the earth will see him coming. As with most parts of Revelation, there is symbolism behind this verse. In this

case, the symbolism draws on things from nature.

Clouds are those created symbols of transcendence and imminence. They reflect both the transcendent glory of the Lord and His imminent approach to us.

CLOUDS BOTH GREEN AND WHITE WE SAW THAT DAY 44 YEARS AGO

Behold, He is coming with clouds, and every eye will see Him, even they who pierced Him. And all the tribes of the earth will mourn because of Him. Even so, Amen. Revelation 1:7 NKJV

Green represents life, eternal life, restoration, and a new beginning. *

The colour green represents a growing and blooming where one is planted. It is representative of a Christian life that produces good fruit and finds rest in Christ.

A green plant or tree is a healthy one rowing and producing leaves and flowers. (A brown or withered plant is symbolic of the dying process).

1 Peter 2:15-17 New Living Translation (NLT)

15 It is God’s will that your honorable lives should silence those ignorant people who make foolish accusations against you. 16 For you are free, yet you are God’s slaves, so don’t use your freedom as an excuse to do evil. 17 Respect everyone, and love the family of believers.[a] Fear God, and respect the king.

BIBLE VERSES ABOUT GREEN

And will not be anxious in the year of drought, Nor will cease from yielding fruit.

Stands for unconditional love and understanding, and is associated with giving and receiving care. ...

Is a sign of hope.

Inspires warm and comforting feelings.

Represents a person’s right relationship with God.

WHITE CLOUDS WE SAW MOVING BELOW THE GREEN CLOUD

White clouds below the green cloud pointed to the soon coming of the Righteous One and the righteousness He imputes to all who come to Him in faith.(The white clouds that covered up the green cloud meant it was a symbolic message would be hidden from the two of us for a much later date or time in our lives)

Revelation 14:14

Then I looked, and behold, a white cloud, and sitting on the cloud was one like a son of man, having a golden crown on His head and a sharp sickle in His hand.

Above all the clouds we still saw the blue sky

The blue sky is a reminder of heaven

THE BLUE SKY REPRESENTED ABOVE ALL OF THE CLOUDS

I am the door: by me, if any man enters in, he shall be saved and shall go in and out, and find pasture. (John 10:9)

THE BIBLE HAS MUCH TO SAY ABOUT THE SIGNIFICANCE OF CLOUDS

Surprisingly, the Scriptures have much to teach, by way of illustration or allusion, about the symbolic and redemptive-historical significance of clouds.

The first place where clouds play a prominent role in redemptive history is in the flood narrative. No sooner had Noah and his family stepped off of the Ark that the LORD placed his bow in the clouds--a sacramental reminder of the covenant mercy that He was promising in preparation for the coming Redeemer.

The Apostle John tells us that there is a rainbow around the throne of Christ (Rev. 4:3).

How fitting then, when God promises to give mercy from His Covenant throne, that He puts His bow in the clouds, as if to say, "From my majestic and transcendent throne, I will bring my mercy down to you."

The rainbow shall be in the cloud, and I will look on it to remember the everlasting covenant between God and every living creature of all flesh that is on the earth" (Gen. 9:14-16).

THE COSMOS FLOWERS ARE THE COLOURS OF THE RAINBOW

When the Lord brought His people out of Egypt in the Exodus, He led them out and through the wilderness for 40 years by means of the pillar of cloud. By this, the Lord was promising His people that He would be with them.

It is a symbol of His presence and protection.

The cloudy pillar shielded God's people from the blistering sun, as well as kept them hidden from the sight of their enemies.

Additionally, it served to teach them that God would lead them by a way that they did not know. As Moses explained, "The Lord went before them by day in a pillar of cloud to lead the way" (Ex. 13:21). The people could not see through the pillar of cloud. They would have to trust the Lord and believe that His presence was sufficient to lead them to the place where

He was taking them.

The coming of the Lord in the pillar of cloud is the first clear example in Scripture of the Lord using clouds to symbolize His presence

The Psalmist declares, under figurative language, that GOD "makes the clouds His chariot" (Ps. 104:3).

Nahum tells us that "the clouds are the dust of His feet" (Nahum 1:3). Clouds serve as the best picture in the creation of the imminent presence of the transcendent God.

Clouds continued to play a significant role in the further revelation at Sinai. When Almighty God came down on the Mount He did so by means of a cloud. As Moses went up into the mountain to receive covenant revelation from the Lord, "a cloud covered the mountain.

" We are told that "the glory of the Lord rested on Mount Sinai, and the cloud covered it six days. And on the seventh day, He called to Moses out of the midst of the cloud" (Ex. 24:15-16).

Continuing His redemptive work among His people, the Lord came and dwelt in the Tabernacle in the pillar of cloud: "It came to pass, when Moses entered the tabernacle, that the pillar of cloud descended and stood at the door of the tabernacle, and the Lord talked with Moses.

All the people saw the pillar of cloud standing at the tabernacle door, and all the people rose and worshipped, each man in his tent door" (Ex. 33:9-10; 40:34).

The people knew that the Lord had come to dwell with them when they saw the cloudy pillar come down on the Tabernacle. Additionally, the Lord would make His presence known to the Priest when He could come and dwell over the Ark of the Covenant. He promised that when He came, He would "appear in the cloud above the mercy seat" (Lev. 16:2). The Shekinah glory was a glory cloud in the Most Holy Place.

As Israel journeyed, they only did so in light of the descening and ascension of the glory cloud. We read, "Then the cloud covered the tabernacle of meeting, and the glory of the Lord filled the tabernacle.

Whenever the cloud was taken up from above the tabernacle, the children of Israel would go onward in all their journeys. But if the cloud was not taken up, then they did not journey till the day that it was taken up (Ex. 40:34-37)

As God had come down on and gone up from the Mount when He revealed Himself to His people through the mediation of Moses, so too He came down and went up in the cloud as He led His people forward through their pilgrimage to the Promised Land.

He saw that glory shining in the face of Jesus. Luke tells us that as Jesus was speaking, "A cloud came and overshadowed them; and they were fearful as They entered the cloud. And a voice came out of the cloud, saying,

“This is My beloved Son. Hear Him!” God the Father came down on the mountain and spoke out of the cloud, declaring and explaining that Christ was His eternally beloved Son--the fullness of His revelation.

When Peter reflected back on this incident so many years later he remembered most of all the glory cloud out of which God the Father spoke. He explained that on the mountain Jesus "received from God the Father honor and glory when such a voice came to Him from the Excellent Glory:

'This is My beloved Son, in whom I am well pleased.'" (1 Peter 1:17). Jonathan Edwards captured the essence of the glory cloud at the Transfiguration when he wrote:

Exceeding the light of the sun...And there probably was an exact resemblance between the glory that the disciples saw in Christ’s face, and that which they saw in this cloud, which declared him to be the Son of God; for they saw him to be his express image."

The last place in which clouds play a significant role in redemptive history is in the ascension and in the return of Christ. After His resurrection, Jesus took His disciples up to a high mountain where

"He was taken up, and a cloud received Him out of their sight" (Acts 1:9).

Jesus' ascension on the clouds was foretold by Daniel (Dan. 7:13-14).

He is the Son of Man ascending on the clouds of heaven and coming to the Ancient of Days to receive the Kingdom that was promised to Him. Likewise, the Scriptures tell us that "He is coming with clouds, and every eye will see Him, even they who pierced Him. (Rev. 1:7).

The Scriptures promise that He will "come in like manner" as that by which He ascended to glory (Acts 1:11). One of the ways in which believers are to comfort one another in this life, while we await the full revelation of Christ, is that when Jesus comes again, "we who are alive and remain shall be caught up together with them (i.e. believers who have already died) in the clouds to meet the Lord in the air. And thus we shall always be with the Lord."

From the post-flood revelation to the parousia, the Scripture utilizes clouds to symbolize the presence of God. The next time we are tempted to complain about it being a cloudy day, we should pause and consider how the Lord uses clouds to remind us of His imminent presence and the promise of the coming of Jesus.

Clouds, God's Presence

Psalm 97:2

Clouds and thick darkness surround Him; Righteousness and justice are the foundation of His throne.

Job 22:14

'Clouds are a hiding place for Him so that He cannot see, And He walks on the vault of heaven.'

Job 37:15-16

"Do you know how God establishes them And makes the lightning of His cloud to shine? "Do you know about the layers of the thick clouds, The wonders of one perfect in knowledge,

Job 26:9

"He obscures the face of the full moon And spreads His cloud over it.

Job 36:29

"Can anyone understand the spreading of the clouds, The thundering of His pavilion?

Nahum 1:3

The LORD is slow to anger and great in power, And the LORD will by no means leave the guilty unpunished In whirlwind and storm is His way, And clouds are the dust beneath His feet.

Job 37:11

"Also with moisture, He loads the thick cloud; He disperses the cloud of His lightning.

Exodus 13:21-22

The LORD was going before them in a pillar of cloud by day to lead them on the way, and in a pillar of fire by night to give them light, that they might travel by day and by night. He did not take away the pillar of cloud by day, nor the pillar of fire by night, from before the people.

1 Thessalonians 4:17

Then we who are alive and remain will be caught up together with them in the clouds to meet the Lord in the air, and so we shall always be with the Lord.

Leviticus 16:2

The LORD said to Moses: "Tell your brother Aaron that he shall not enter at any time into the holy place inside the veil, before the mercy seat which is on the ark, or he will die; for I will appear in the cloud over the mercy seat.

Deuteronomy 4:11

"You came near and stood at the foot of the mountain, and the mountain burned with fire to the very heart of the heavens: darkness, cloud and thick gloom.

Ezekiel 1:28

As the appearance of the rainbow in the clouds on a rainy day, so was the appearance of the surrounding radiance Such was the appearance of the likeness of the glory of the LORD And when I saw it, I fell on my face and heard a voice speaking.

Numbers 16:42

It came about, however, when the congregation had assembled against Moses and Aaron, that they turned toward the tent of meeting, and behold, the cloud covered it and the glory of the LORD appeared.

Exodus 6:10

It came about as Aaron spoke to the whole congregation of the sons of Israel, that they looked toward the wilderness, and behold, the glory of the LORD appeared in the cloud.

1 Kings 8:10-12

It happened that when the priests came from the holy place, the cloud filled the house of the LORD, so that the priests could not stand to minister because of the cloud, for the glory of the LORD filled the house of the

LORD.

Then Solomon said, "The LORD has said that He would dwell in the thick cloud.

The Hebrew so rendered means "a covering," because clouds cover the sky. The word is used as a symbol of the Divine presence, as indicating the splendour of Almighty God …

THE COSMOS FLOWERS WE SAW HAD THE COLORS OF THE RAINBOW

- Cosmos, along with many of our succulent and aloe species, has become regarded as indigenous in South Africa and bloom in various colours - white, pink, cerise and red - no yellow in South Africa. Having them in your garden ensures a wonderful display of colour during early autumn and summer.

Biblical Color Symbolism

Colors are a form of nonverbal communication. God used a visual sign of colors to represent a covenant He made with all the people of the earth:

"I set My rainbow in the cloud, and it shall be for the sign of the covenant between Me and the earth.... The rainbow shall be in the cloud, and I will look on it to remember the everlasting covenant between God and every living creature of all flesh that is on the earth." (Genesis 9:13, 16)
