And he said to them, "I have eagerly desired to eat this Passover with you before I suffer. Luke 22:15

On this day, some two thousand years ago, under cover of darkness, Jesus and His disciples gathered in an upper room in the city of Jerusalem. There, in the light of flickering oil lamps, they ate their final meal together. The Passover lamb had been killed and cooked earlier that afternoon, and now after sundown they were celebrating a traditional Jewish Seder.

Jesus told them, “I have eagerly desired to eat this Passover with you before I suffer.” He had not only looked forward to a time of food and fellowship, but earnestly desired it. It meant a great deal to Him. Even today He says. “Here I am! I stand at the door and knock. If anyone hears my voice and opens the door, I will come in and eat with that person, and they with me” (Revelation 3:20).

Jesus earnestly desires intimate, heart-to-heart fellowship with you every day-not just at Easter. Be sure to spend quiet time with Him daily, whether in the morning or evening, feasting on His Word and meditating on Him. “Your words were found, and I did eat them; and thy word was unto me the joy and rejoicing of mine heart” (Jeremiah 15:16). As you speak to Him, He in turn will respond in “a still small voice” (1 Kings 19:12).

I'm not sure why people believe Jesus was crucified on Friday.

Matt 28:1; Now after the Sabbath, as it began to dawn toward the first day of the week, Mary Magdalene and the other Mary came to look at the grave.

Jesus was risen by Sunday morning.

Mark 16:1; When the Sabbath was over, Mary Magdalene, and Mary the mother of James, and Salome, bought spices, so that they might come and anoint Him.
Mark 16:2; Very early on the first day of the week, they *came to the tomb when the sun had risen.

The Sabbath (Saturday) had just ended. It was Sunday morning. Jesus is already risen.

If he was crucified on Friday night, and Raised on Sunday morning, that was only a day and a half in the grave.

Some churches believe he was crucified on Maundy-Thursday. But even this would be incorrect. That would put Him in the grave two days.

Luke 24:1; But at daybreak on the first day of the week they took the spices they had prepared and went to the tomb.
Luke 24:2; They found the stone rolled away from the tomb;

God bless you brother if that's the only thing you took from this devotional.
I still thank you for sharing your words with me.

Its not really important which day it was my friend. What IS important though is that Jesus did the deed that He came to do. "IT IS FINISHED!"
