God's View Of Healing

People have a lot of different ideas about healing that are not scriptural. And sometimes people hold fast to ideas because of tradition, but what good is a tradition if it's not based on the word. Mark 7:13 says, Making the word of God of none effect through your tradition, which ye have delivered: and many such like things do ye. So, let's see what The Bible shows about healing so we all can be on the same page. Some people actually think it's wrong to go to God for healing, people have told me that's just using God, if He wants to do it then He will just do it. OK, let's look at that theory because if you think it's wrong to go to God for healing then it could be a hindrance to you receiving. In Psalm 103:2,3 Bless the Lord, O my soul, and forget not all his benefits: 3 Who forgiveth all thine iniquities; who healeth all thy diseases. Look at that the scripture calls healing a benefit, not something that's wrong to receive.

In Matthew 15:28 Jesus made a statement to a woman that still holds true today, But he answered and said, It is not meet to take the children's bread, and to cast it to dogs. He called healing the children's bread, it's every child's right to be fed, you shouldn't have to beg to be fed. If God is your father, if you are a child of God then healing is your right. In Acts 10:38 it says, How God anointed Jesus of Nazareth with the Holy Ghost and with power: who went about doing good, and healing all that were oppressed of the devil; for God was with him. So, whoever came to him he healed, he never turned anyone away. In Luke 13:16 after Jesus healed a woman on the sabbath day and the ruler of the synagogue was upset Jesus said, And ought not this woman, being a daughter of Abraham, whom Satan hath bound, lo, these eighteen years, be loosed from this bond on the sabbath day?

Notice, Jesus didn't mention anything about her church attendance, nor her character, all he mentioned was her being a daughter of Abraham. Her being a seed of Abraham entitled her to healing. That's good news to everyone that has received Jesus, because Galatians 3:29 says, And if ye be Christ's, then are ye Abraham's seed, and heirs according to the promise. So, that's still God's attitude today, so be encouraged for He is not holding it back. God wants you to have it that's why James 5:14,15 says, Is any sick among you? let him call for the elders of the church; and let them pray over him, anointing him with oil in the name of the Lord: 15 And the prayer of faith shall save the sick, and the Lord shall raise him up; and if he have committed sins, they shall be forgiven him. Look at that Paul said, "Is any sick among you," he didn't put a limit on it, it's for every child of God. Understand one of God's covenant names is Jehovah Rapha-The Lord our healer, healing is not just something He does it's His nature.

That's not just a name it's what's in Him to do. When Jesus came to the earth he went around healing, but then he commissioned the 12 disciples to go out and heal and then he commissioned 70 others to go out and heal. It looks like to me healing is a big deal to God. And even now in Mark 16:17,18 it says, And these signs shall follow them that believe; In my name shall they cast out devils; they shall speak with new tongues; 18 They shall take up serpents; and if they drink any deadly thing, it shall not hurt them; they shall lay hands on the sick, and they shall recover. It still looks like healing a big deal to God and still his will. So, if God doesn't see it as an issue why would anyone else see it as an issue, that doesn't go with the scriptures. He even has supplied us with medicine for our healing. In Proverbs 4:20-22 it says, My son, attend to my words; incline thine ear unto my sayings. 21 Let them not depart from thine eyes; keep them in the midst of thine heart. 22 For they are life unto those that find them, and health to all their flesh. That word health is translated as-medicine, healing, remedy, cure. Notice, find out what the word says and keep it in your eyes, ears, and mouth and it will bring healing to your body, it did for me so I know. God is a healer, He always has been and always will be because it's His nature, a good father.

It is not God's will that any should perish. And I wouldn't want to end this article without giving someone the opportunity to receive Jesus as their Lord and Savior. It's very easy just pray: Dear God- I know I have sinned and I now turn from them and I invite Jesus to come into my heart (Revelation 3:20). He died for my sins and you have raised him from the dead and I now confess Jesus is my Lord and Savior (Romans 10:9,10). I thank you for saving me, Amen

But as many as received him, to them gave he power to become the sons of God, even to them that believe on his name (John 1:12). 1 Timothy 2:4 Who will have all men to be saved, and to come unto the knowledge of the truth. Romans 5:8-10 But God commendeth his love toward us, in that, while we were yet sinners, Christ died for us. [9] Much more then, being now justified by his blood, we shall be saved from wrath through him. [10] For if, when we were enemies, we were reconciled to God by the death of his Son, much more, being reconciled, we shall be saved by his life. 2 Peter 3:9 King James Version 9 The Lord is not slack concerning his promise, as some men count slackness; but is longsuffering to us-ward, not willing that any should perish, but that all should come to repentance.
