In the past few weeks, I have experienced a strange sensation which I wonder if it is God's presence.

Now I have no idea if this is normal. I can only tell it as it is. I really don't want you to think that I am 'superspiritual', but there again, this sensation might be totally normal for you.

Due to my illness, I spend most of the day in bed and this sensation normally happens in bed.

All I can describe it like is a hand hovering about 1 millimetre above my head (always my head, nowhere else). It isn't a frightening experience for me.

Now normally, I get very frustrated when I don't get clear answers, but on this one, any opinion will be gratefully received.

Do you think that this is God's hand/God's presence? If not, what could it be?

:confused:

Yes I would say it was definitely of God whether it was God or an angel sent to help you and comfort you. The letter to the Hebrews speaks of angels being ministering spirits sent to minister too those who are heirs of salvation – that is the full inheritance of salvation in heaven.

A hand can often be seen as symbol of the anointing of the Holy Spirit, His presence is hovering over you. It might be an idea to ask for his presence to fill you if your comfortable with that, ask in Jesus name. See Luke 1:35 and Psalm 91:1

One thing is for sure it would not be unusual to have both the angelic and the Holy Spirit with you in your room.

God bless you

Dear friend

I am so overjoyed today as I came here and saw your signature after seeing the apples last night. I knew they represented the fact that You are the apple of His eye. This is so beautiful.

I knew God would show Himself to you in a good way as He does like to encourage new Christians to help them grow in their faith.

You sure have encouraged and inspired me today.

You are special and unique.

Remember to read the verses which tell you Who you are in Christ. They are so positive and uplifting too.

God bless

Well, I am a person who likes/needs visual reminders and what could be better than seeing the apples and the verse every time that I send a post???!!!

This is wonderful news, sadeyes.

Tony described it so well, and yes I agree with him totally. God is so wonderful, and I am really happy to hear that you are receiving God's presence and anointing.

I think it's nice to share our experiences, and how God has blessed all His people spiritually.

2Jo 1:3 Grace be with you, mercy, and peace, from God the Father, and from the Lord Jesus Christ, the Son of the Father, in truth and love. :love:

It might be an idea to ask for his presence to fill you if your comfortable with that, ask in Jesus name. See Luke 1:35 and Psalm 91:1

I have had a look at these verses, but I don't quite understand the phrase 'Ask in Jesus' name'.

I understand about asking for God's presence to fill me - that sounds like a pretty 'neat' idea! - but what do you mean by 'ask in Jesus' name'?

:confused:

When we pray to Jesus He says if we ask according to His will. Pray in His name he will answer our prayers. His answers will be yes, no or wait. He does not always answer as we expect as His ways are higher than ours. He knows what is best for us.

If you notice when we pray for you, we finish the prayer by saying In Jesus' name amen. It is that simple sister.

His will is to fill us with His presence and the Holy Spirit fills us up and helps us daily.

We can ask Him to fill us with His Holy Spirit. When we minister to others we have to be refilled again to be able to carry on His work.

Psalm 16

I have to add a couple of scriptures here too.
7 I will praise the LORD, who counsels me;
even at night my heart instructs me.
8 I have set the LORD always before me.
Because he is at my right hand,
I will not be shaken.
9 Therefore my heart is glad and my tongue rejoices;
my body also will rest secure,
10 because you will not abandon me to the grave,
nor will you let your Holy One see decay.
11 You have made <sup></sup> known to me the path of life;
you will fill me with joy in your presence,
with eternal pleasures at your right hand.

Acts 2
24But God raised him from the dead, freeing him from the agony of death, because it was impossible for death to keep its hold on him. 25David said about him:
" 'I saw the Lord always before me.
Because he is at my right hand,
I will not be shaken.
26Therefore my heart is glad and my tongue rejoices;
my body also will live in hope,
27because you will not abandon me to the grave,
nor will you let your Holy One see decay.
28You have made known to me the paths of life;
you will fill me with joy in your presence.

This has just reminded me of another one.

The joy of the Lord is your strength Nehemiah 8.10

God bless

Wow! - I didn't know that. So we have to finish our prayers with the words In Jesus' name or they won't be answered.

Gosh! - I have never used those words at the end of any of my prayers.

:embarasse

I am very sorry but I have never noticed that you always finish your prayers with these words.

Boy! I have so much to learn!!!!!!!!

hey there sadeyes
i read your post and it seems wonderful... I've never experienced something like this. I hope the presence of God really is with you.

however, i would advise you to be very careful in what you'll do next. Appearances may trick us... Paul says that Satan himself and his angels sometimes become angels of light (2 Corinthians 11:14). If the feeling you described persists, then be sure that it is God, or a servant of Him, before you ask Him to come over you... 1 Corinthians 12:3b is the way to do that. Satan can not say that Jesus is the Lord... I felt like i needed to write these thoughts...

Hope that you will have a great relationship with GOD !

I love your response sister. From your very first post, to this: a huge difference. The joy you have comes from Him alone, Jesus :)

I appreciate people being honest with me and for giving their time to write a reply to me.

However, you have scared me by this. I am really scared that it could be satan and how does 1 Corinthians 12:3b help me? It says: 'No-one can say 'Jesus is Lord' except by the Holy Spirit.'

I am now entering panic-mode ... HELP!!

:confused::confused::confused::confused::confused:

Satan the father of all lies will not call Jesus Lord. I do think what you experienced was God as you have been seeking Him. Just stay close to Him get to know your Bible so that you can quote scriptures from within when you need them.

God bless and don't panic sister enjoy God.

sorry if i scared you... that wasn't my intention
i only mentioned the pessimistic side in my post... Never forget that as long as you have a good relationship with God, Satan can not do anything without God's approval. Keep close to Jesus and He will be there for you.

Thanks for the apology, but I knew that you had only written it as a warning - which showed that you cared.

It was better to warn me of a possible danger than to leave me without that warning.

Your intentions were good and honest.

Thanks

Thank you Tony for this reply. It has been so useful to me in the past 15 or 16 hours as this sensation (which I will refer to as God's presence because I don't know of another name for it) has been with me (almost?) continually.

It led me to forgive my father yesterday evening - which in itself was a miracle. When I went to sleep, I slept well until just before 6 o'clock this morning when I was woken up. God's presence was intensely resting on my head. I wasn't scared but prayed like you suggested (although I forgot to say 'In Jesus' name' as that is totally new to me and it will take some time for me to get into that habit!). God reminded me of more people that I needed to forgive - which I did.

This is all so totally amazing, but reassuring too.

As I lay in bed resting this morning with God's presence still on me, it was beautiful to know that I wasn't alone. God is on my side. He is helping and comforting me.

:love:

Now I am going to say WOW! And I keep wanting to call you 'Little Apple'

God is always on our side, He is always for us, never against us. And I just believe you really are experiencing an amazing presence of the Holy Spirit. Forgiving your father and other people who have hurt you, is such a freeing thing to do, and you are being obedient to God. When we obey God, blessings come. You are going to feel such a load off your shoulders and a lightness of heart. When we get rid of unforgiveness, bitterness, resentment, just give it all up, healing comes into our hearts, minds and even possibly our bodies.

Praise God for all these changes in your life. I am so, so happy for you. I really truly am, Jesus is amazing. Continue pursuing our Saviour, keep your eyes on Him.

God Bless

Hello Sadeyes,

I've only one thing to say about what God is doing in your life and that wow!
Isn't God good!

It's a great thing to just bask in the glory of God's presence but I'd like to encourage
you to continue responding to Him when He gives you something to do.

You are on the edge of something fantastic and forgiving people is part of a process
that will lead you further into the glory of God and of His Son, Jesus Christ.

The Christian life is meant to go from glory to increased glory and what ever stage we at as Christians there is always more in God.

Ephesians 3:20 Now to Him that is able to do exceedingly abundantly above all that you can ask or think, according to the power that works in us.

No doubt you'll find out about what this verse means experientially soon enough.

Bless you,
Tony
:love:

PS The presence you experience is the Holy Spirit or as the Jewish people would say the Spirit of Holiness.

The Holy Spirit has been on me for almost 24 hours. I am not complaining, but is this normal? It is a strange sensation. It is as if something is resting on my head.

Before it was more like being 1 millimetre above my head, but now it certainly feels as though it is resting on the top of my head.

:confused:
