God's name

What do you say God's name is? I know this is scripture study topic here but his name used to be throughout the scriptures. So I decided it was best to put it here. Everyone calls him God but that is just a title. It is like me calling you man or woman all the time but never calling you by your name, either when talking directly to you or about you. Even the devil himself has quite a following now, even among celebrities and when you pray to "God", you don't know who you could be praying to. I say go by the name the Hebrews used to use, since we are using the books they wrote as our study guide anyway. Why take anything out? Isn't that a sin? What has been taken out, needs to be restored. And in some bibles, this name has been appropriately put back in.

I will say what the name is later but for now, I want to see just what people say his name is first. Then I will clear the air based on the studying I have done and will provide links.

When GOD sent Mosed to pharoah, He named HIS name. "Who shall I tell them sent me?" "Tell them I AM sent you" HIS name is I AM.

Now think about it. Its a really cool name. We call HIM Jehova Jireh (my provider) and rightly so. HE is our source. You need food and clothes? HE says "That's the I AM that I am."
You need a good house to live in? HE says "That's the I AM that I am." You need salvation from hell? "That's the I AM that I am" Healing? Deliverance from demons? Power to preach to the unsaved? Blessings to feed thousands? A warm coat in winter? THAT'S THE I AM THAT I AM! HE is our provider. He is the one that takes care of HIS children.
Whatever you need and even want you simply ask HIM because that's the I AM that HE AM!

Actually, you're half right. It is YHVH, the Hebrew letters, being pronounced, Yud Heh Huv Heh. Your thinking on it being read from right to left is on the right line but of course when the scriptures were translated, the translaters, of course knew that the beginning of the text was at the right. So they would have started at the right and translated everything into our version, starting at the left. So the first part is right. God's name is not originally, HVHY in the Hebrew language. Linguists research indicates that the early Hebrews pronounced this as "Yah-weh" with a as in hot and e as in hey. It is still great that you know this. Most Christians simply call him "God" and that is a sad mistake.<!-- google_ad_section_end -->

Speaking about right to left as in Hebrew, and left to right for English

Not sure about Hebrew, but I believe at one time, Greek was written ... starting at the left, going to the right, and then dropping down a line and reading right to left, dropping down a line and then left to right and so on ...

This is so much easier on the eyes than our present system of reading "like a typewriter" or watching a tennis match!

There are some interesting (some say mystery) visual examples of eleven unusually large (majuscula) letters in a Hebrew Bible that the translators omitted when they translated into English. The one that interests me is in the "Shema" Deut 6:4 where it is the only time that two of these mystery letters appear together. Rabbi Bochin states that together, these two extra large letters form the word ... "witness".

They are 'ain (the eye) and daleth (the door). They have lain there "as dead" for 3 1/2 (prophetic) "days" ... that is 3,500 years since the day that G-d inspired Moses to place them there.

The Jews do not understand this, but I believe they are a visual biblical sign to the Jews that Jesus is their Jewish Messiah.

Coincidence ?

Not only that, but each of the following words also sum at ... 74.
Jesus, Jewish, Messiah, Y'shua, Joshua, Cross, Gospel, Menorah, The Omega, The King ... and a multitude of other words all associated with Jesus and the Bible.

As you know, the Jews will not use the letters G O D they do it as G-D
G is our letter 7 ... and D is our letter 4 ... ... ... ... ... ... ... ... ... ... 7-4

Two of Moses' songs are also written in an unusual form.
One (visually) appears as two "towers" of words, with a large gap between the towers, and another song is written in the form called "brick upon brick" where the words are "overlaid" as you would build a brick wall.
