I follow the one true God, the God of the Bible.

SLE
There are 66 books, in the bible. Please be more specific, tell me 1 book, from the bible,
which, the one true God, you say you follow, is recorded, in it.

I saw that! It's your turn. :dizzy:
The op of the thread is ...Who, do you, call upon, as God?
You have made 2 post, on this thread, and as of yet, to just answer the op, of the thread.
Do you have a reason?

Au contraire, mon frere'. Since you forfeited your answer, I win! Now, I'm off to Tahiti.

Jesus loves you!

Goodnight!

Who, do you, call upon, as God?

Hello JTC, happy to oblige.

Ezekiel 1
26 Now above the expanse that was over their heads there was something resembling a throne,
like lapis lazuli in appearance; and on that which resembled a throne, high up, was a figure with
the appearance of a man. 27 Then I noticed from the appearance of His loins and upward something
like glowing metal that looked like fire all around within it, and from the appearance of His loins and
downward I saw something like fire; and there was a radiance around Him. 28 As the appearance of
the rainbow in the clouds on a rainy day, so was the appearance of the surrounding radiance. Such
was the appearance of the likeness of the glory of the Lord. And when I saw it, I fell on my face and
heard a voice speaking.

Did Ezekiel, see God?

I really do not appreciate you spamming my thread.

My answer was and still is 'Jesus'. Do you have an aversion to the name of Jesus? Are you Jehovah Witness? If so, I didn't mean to offend you with my answer in my first post. We just see things differently.

In 1 Kings 18:24,37 and Psalm 116:4, the phrase "call upon the name of the Lord" is used to designate prayer to God. This same phrase is used in reference to Jesus in 1 Cor. 1:2. The Christian church is to call upon the name of the Lord, Jesus Christ. This is a declaration of prayer to Christ--designating His divine nature.

1John 5:20 - Jesus is being called the " true God and eternal life " He is both God and Savior.

and John 17:3 refers to the Father as the true God.

here we see God is ONE in terms of composite unity. that is the nature of God.

Did Ezekiel, see God?

Hello JTC, a fascinating topic.

1) The reference to 'a throne' and 'high up' must be the throne in heaven JTC.

2) The 'radiance around Him' and also 'the likeness of the Glory of Jehovah'
surely implies that this one sitting on the throne is the true God.

3) Please notice the reaction of Ezekiel when he casts his gaze upon the one seated
high up on the throne, 'I fell on my face'.

4) Ezekiel looked at the created creatures but was not humbled by the sight.
But Ezekiel could not look upon the one seated on the throne.

If Ezekiel did not see God, then whom is seated on the throne in heaven?

If Ezekiel did not see God, then why did Ezekiel fall on his face?

Who, do you, call upon, as God?
I sense an ambush.
God is love, when you call on your sweetheart you go to her house with flowers.
When going to the house of love we should act like love.

I think the term "call upon" has changed meaning over the last few thousand years.
Think about the goat/sheep analogy.
The goats said and did the right things.
The sheep did not even know they knew him, they were just busy acting like love acts.

His sheep know his voice and follow and he gives them a new name.
A name in ancient times denoted character, man's understanding of the nature of God was not fully revealed until
Jesus told us by the spirit that God is love.

John 10:8 All that ever came before me are thieves and robbers: but the sheep did not hear them.
My Shepard said to me "love my sheep".

The wrath of God. Is God also wrath?
