Then David dwelt in the stronghold, and called it the City of David. And David built all around from the Millo and inward. So David went on and became great, and the LORD God of hosts [was] with him. 2 Samuel 5:9-10 NKJV
The biblical story of David is an amazing one. He rose from humble beginnings to a position of great power and prestige in the ancient world. Yet David didn’t grow in power because of his own wisdom and strength, let alone because he was perfect in all his ways (in fact, he was far from it). He grew in his power for one reason: God was with him.
God may not have planned to make you a powerful person, a famous person, or a rich person. But He has plans for those He loves, and you can place yourself in the middle of those plans when you put yourself in the place where He wants you to be.
How can you know that God is with you? What can you do to make sure He stays with you today and always?
Prayer: Gracious heavenly Father, more than anything else, I want to know that You are with me in all I do and everywhere I go. Show me how I can stay in the place where You want me to be so that I may enjoy everything You have for me in this life.
