"Look to Me, and be saved, All you ends of the earth! For I [am] God, and [there is] no other. I have sworn by Myself; The word has gone out of My mouth [in] righteousness, And shall not return, That to Me every knee shall bow, Every tongue shall take an oath. Isaiah 45:22-23 NKJV
God will not share His worship with anyone or anything else in this world. Even those who are confident and powerful today will have to bow down and worship God. The challenges and threats of today cannot stand before the power of God and the assured day of reckoning. This is true even if it appears that God is on the losing end of so many causes and conflicts.
How does the image of all people and authorities bowing down to God one day change your perspective today? Do you find that sometimes you’ve imagined God as powerless or weak? Have you imagined that your circumstances or certain people are stronger and more influential than they are?
Life may be a series of shifts and reorientations in light of the truth of God’s power and presence. The choice you make today to live in obedience to God and to follow God’s direction for your life will be what stands the test of time—extending even into eternity.
Prayer: Lord, help me remember that You have overcome every principality and power in the world.
