PloughBoy -- for the time being -- no group of over 10 people can legally be meeting together. Lots of pastors are going to on-line sermons. Others are simply not meeting -- maybe small groups. The big one I've been going to is going to on-line preaching -- they have the capabilities to do so. But all other activities of the church are stopped until mid-May or so. So far - the much smaller church I've just started going back to is still open.

What I found interesting is that in Austin -- the bars are being closed. Restaurants are closed, also. But drive-thu / take out is still being encouraged. People do need to eat and be able to socialize at a distance.

This doesn't belong in "News stand". Please choose the proper forum category when posting.

Secondly, even churches and many businesses are closed so your picture really doesn't prove anything.

Thanks for the correction with the forum category. I wasn't sure.
Perhaps brother @Chad many of our churches are not worshiping in Spirit and in Truth, which is why God has allowed them to close.
What are your thoughts?

My church was closed for service this past Sunday here in USA (Easton, Maryland).

@Jesus_is_LORD -- My thoughts on that subject of churches closing down is because the local authorities / county authorities are following protocal for trying to protect Everyone from spreading / getting the virus. Any groups bigger than 10 people are being highly discouraged. That includes most every church as well as most businesses.

So - please- let's Not point fingers at churches that Might not be worshiping God in Spirit and in Truth.

Are you suggesting that Your church might not be worshiping correctly? Then find a different church , but chances are that That church is closed for the time being, Also. Unless the congregation is very small. Being closed to services does Not mean they are not preaching. The larger churches have on-line capabilities.

Well, I tell you one thing for sure, a lot are going to be more concern with that offering box than “Covid-19”. Sad.

But I guess most people will get on the internet now, and maybe that is where God want them to be right now.

I think I've opened a path and it seems that I see where this leads and how it can get very tricky very fast.

I'll leave it alone. I probably should have reflected more and prayed before

posting that. Thanks for sharing. God Bless.

The next few weeks and months are looking to be very distressing for many, many people.

Inevitably, it will draw out of the woodwork a lot of people with extreme, misleading and divisive things to say. People will be claiming all sorts of reasons for this crisis, and making wild predictions. Let's not do anything to give more oxygen to their fire.

For that reason, we should be all the more careful in what we post online. It's a good time for us to stick with the absolute basics of loving our neighbours, exercising compassion, praying for each other and displaying the fruits of the spirit - kindness, gentleness, goodness and patience.

The greatest witness we can be to the world right now is to show that in Christ, our love, faith and hope endure through the toughest times, and that God's grace overflows from us to our neighbours.

Let's be ready for action.

Peter was writing to people living in a different age with a very different set of troubles. I find these words remarkably appropriate for today though.

Humble yourselves, therefore, under the mighty hand of God so that at the proper time he may exalt you, casting all your anxieties on him, because he cares for you. Be sober-minded; be watchful. Your adversary the devil prowls around like a roaring lion, seeking someone to devour. Resist him, firm in your faith, knowing that the same kinds of suffering are being experienced by your brotherhood throughout the world. And after you have suffered a little while, the God of all grace, who has called you to his eternal glory in Christ, will himself restore, confirm, strengthen, and establish you. To him be the dominion forever and ever. Amen.

Well, we do remember what they did to Jesus and all of His Apostles when they showed their love.:( Get ready to lay down your life. If we don’t, we are not worthy to be His “Disciple”.
Do I have a “Witness”!

541 CE “Justinian Plague” many of Christians took care of the sick. Over 25-50 million died.

1347 CE The “Black Death” over 100-200 million died

1665 CE “The Great Plague of London”

1894 CE “The Third Pandemic of 1894”

and let us not remember the Pandemic of:
1914 CE “Spanish Flu”

And Remember “The Small Pox” epidemic”

Those who are familiar with “church history” remember how many Christians died by helping those who became sick. For Many missionaries it has become a norm to help those in such need. I’m quite sure they have won many over their sacrifice, by not loving their lives into death. What great love than this, that one will lay down his life unto death.

New American Standard Bible
"Greater love has no one than this, that one lay down his life for his friends.

“Christians are always the 1st who are willing to hit the streets”. And most of all “The Roman Catholic Nuns” has always been a pillar is such cases!

PloughBoy -- Jesus Christ came to this world TO die on the cross for us. The Apostles were those men who'd been with Jesus Christ from the start of His ministry to His death.

Why are you Sad about Jesus Christ showing His love for us By giving His life. His bodily resurrection -- His shed blood for our sins - was His showing His great love for us. And providing for our salvation.

This coronavirus thing is Far from anyone one laying down their life for Christ.

No one is threatening to infect us with a fatal virus unless we deny Christ. -- even if they Were -- big deal. We'll be in heaven. But that's Not what is happening.

Fine -- so over the centuries there have been plagues and hundreds of people have died. People also die in times of war -- or by drunk drivers. Or -'whatever'.

And Now you're bringing in RCC nuns that are as unBiblical as it comes.

I grew up around medical. Both my Mom and my sister were nurses. And my sister was a missionary's wife. But she wasn't on the mission field in the role Of being a nurse. She Was raising 4 kids and working with street kids.

Part of life Is dying. A few years ago or so -- we had a tremendous flu season. The schools closed because there was no one well enough to Be at school. We got past that. There were flu shots available but there were several strains 'out there' and so the concept was -- getting a flu shot couldn't Hurt anyone. But that a couple different one's would probably help. We didn't get Any of them. Never got the flu.

And there were Probably born-again believers who Did get sick and died and no one said a thing about That.

People in the medical profession are there because they Want to be. They like to help people. We're thankful that they Do. Just like policemen and firemen.

My sadness is what I felt for him. Taking on my sins and coming down here in this filthy world. On my behave. I’m not worthy.
That is what I felt the 1st. Day I saw his face in a vision, “ tears running down his eyes ,blood streaming down his face from a crown of thorns press upon His head. He called me by name and told me, he died for me, and I cried out, not me Lord , not me Lord, and it broke my heart right then right on the job! I cried like a baby and all of a sudden it happen! My heart crack open like an egg! That “Holy Spirit” came on me! I open my shirt and look down at my chest, “What is This”? And I said: Jesus! And my soul caught on Fire! And I went to running! And screaming Jesus, Jesus, Jesus! People at work and my Daddy, thought I had lost my mind.. But many knew what had happen to me! And from that day in 1977 I will scream his name anywhere from the deepest valley to the highest mountain and to every nationality, creed or color and will not be ashamed. Now that is my testimony! I got a right to be sad, for my savior, my Lord for what He has done for me!

Sue I wasn’t talking about you, Honey, in hurtful terms, I know, I can tell, like you have come from a missionary type family, that help others, I can just feel it flowing throw you. I can sometimes, by your words that you use, the hurts and pains with the comfort that God gives us through all, that we may help one another by the comfort that he gives each and everyone of us because we are brother and sisters in Christ Jesus our Lord. We are the family of God, the world is not. We are a “peculiar” people, strangers, traveling threw a Strange land, among strange people our language is even different, they hear but hear us not, neither can they understand us, because we are the people of God!
I do see that “RCC” really tickle your feathers.
