What a wonderful and hopeful story found in Luke 11:5-13. Here Jesus explains how God, gives good gifts, exceedingly greater than anything given in this world. He does, in fact, have thoughts for us to prosper. How better to prosper than to have that gift of the Holy Spirit! Jesus explains that you can ask for this gift from God in an unashamed manner and He will give it! One way the Holy Spirit changes our response to life's trials is by what is written in Romans 5: 3-5. We rejoice in our sufferings...because God's love has been poured into our hearts through this very gift which has been given to us!
Does this manner of asking assume a repentant heart? I ask because Peter said to repent, and be baptized in the name of the Lord Jesus Christ and you shall receive the gift of the Holy Spirit.
Furthermore, as I sat down to eat lunch today I read this one the restaurant wall "genuine love is so contrary to human nature that its presence bears witness to a extraordinary power"...and I said to myself "yes, and his name is the LORD!
Praise the Lord Jesus!
I hope you are having a Spirit filled Wednesday
