God Needs Us

There are many statements that are being made to people to make them feel good about themselves. These statements have been conjured up to make people feel important, worthy, and accepted. However they are very false and only spoken to keep people coming back to church because in the world today we believe and are taught that the more popular something the better it is for us.

Telling people what they want to hear rather than what they need to hear is not helping them out at all. It is in fact hurting them. Refusing to talk about the goodness of Christ is even worse. Scripture is going to show us where these teachings are wrong and then we are going to show that these things are only stated for the business of the church rather than the hopes of salvation for the souls of man.

The first one that we are going to discuss is "God needs us". No God does not need us. To be frankly honest if we think that we should be needed, then i think we need to look at the pride that we have. God is much better than to need us. This is what is so great about God. We are not worthy of anything from him, yet he opened up the door because he wants us to be a part of Him. He wants to open up to us and have a relationship with us.

The Bible states very clear that there is nothing great about man kind.


Matthew 9:10-13- And it came to pass, as Jesus sat at meat in the house, behold, many publicans and sinners came and sat down with Him and His disciples. And when the pharisees saw it, they said unto His disciples, Why eateth your master with publicans and sinners? But when Jesus heard that, He said unto them, They that be whole need not a physician, but they that are sick. But go ye and learn what that meaneth, I will have mercy not sacrifice: for i am not come to call the righteous, but sinners to repentance.

There is nothing here about man being important or needed by God. Rather it states that Jesus came to those that know they are not worthy and sick in their spiritual manners. The minds of man is wicked and against God until we accept Jesus Christ as our Lord and Savior. However there is still more scrpture on this.

Genesis 6:5-7- And God saw that the wickedness of man was great in the earth, and that every imaginationof the thoughts of his heart was only evil continually. And it repented the Lord that he had made man on the earth, and it greived him at his heart. And the Lord said, I will destroy man whom I have created from the face of the earth: both man, and beast, and the creeping thing, and the fowls of the air; for it repenteth me that I have made them.

Once again this shows that God does not need man. He does not call upon man in repentance for any wrong doings. Rather he repents that he has to judge man and that he has made such a disobediant creation. This does not state any greatness of man.

However it does show that God does not like to have to judge us. God does not like that he has to punish us or that he had to make a place for our wickedness. This point is also stated through out the word of God.

Ezekiel 18:32- For i have no pleasure in the death of one that dieth, saith the Lord God: wherefore repent and live ye.

Romans 5:8- But God commands his love toward us, in that, while we were yet sinners, Christ died for us.

John 3:16- For God so loved the world that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believes on him shall not perish, but have eternal life.

John 3:21- But he that doeth truth cometh to the light, that his deeds may be made manifest, that they are wrought in God.


This by no means states that God wants to punish us. Rather it shows the complete opposite. This shows a deep want of Gods love for us and that he has been willing to make it possible for us to come to him.


However we need to come to the realization that we are sinners and our minds and hearts are sick. That we are not worthy of this gift, but God has made it possible to obtain it. We dont have to pay for it all we need to do to receive it is put our faith in Jesus Christ and repent of our wickedness.

What does the Bible state concerning man?

Romans 3:23-For all have sinned and fall short of the glory of God.


Romans 3:10-18- As it is written, There is none righteous no not one: there is none that understand, there is none that seek after God.They are all gone out of the way they are together become unprofitable; there is none that doeth good, no not onethere throat is an open sepulchre; with their tongues they have used deceit, the poison of asps is under their lips. Whose mouth is full of cursing and bitterness: their feet are swift to shep blood: Destruction and misery are in their ways: And the ways of peace have they not known: There is no fear of God before their eyes.

2 Timothy 3:1-5 This know also, that in the last days perilous times will come. For men shall be lovers of themselves, covetous, boasters, proud, blasphemers, disobedient to parents, unthankful,unholy Without natural affection, trucebreakers, false accusers, incontinent, fierce, despisers of those that are good, Traitors, heady, highminded, lovers of pleasures more than lovers of God; having a farm of godliness, but denying the power thereof: from such turn away.

This is the truth of the gospel that is not being taught. Ladies and gentlemen these feel good teachings that people are giving dn the you will be rich with material things teachings are not saving souls. People go to semenary schools to learn these things because christianity has become a business of money and wealth more than the Lord Jesus Christ.

These pastors are not going to tell you that sin leads to death, nor are they going to tell you that Jesus Christ is the only way to heaven. They want you to come to church and sit in their pews and tithe your money and you better believe they are going to have sermons on this. But they are not going to tell you the truth of the gospel.

1Co 1:30 But of him are ye in Christ Jesus, who of God is made unto us wisdom, and righteousness, and sanctification, and redemption:

Rom 5:17 For if by one man's offense death reigned by one; much more they which receive abundance of grace and of the gift of righteousness shall reign in life by one, Jesus Christ.)

We are no longer sinners as the Blood washed all that junk away, not only that, but you quoted Scriptures That would not describe someone that is saved and has the free gift of Righteousness. Someone that follows God and does right.

My mind and heart is not sick, and I only seek what is right. As for not being Worthy, we are the Children of God. The father loves his children and we are more than conquers though him that loved us.

You said that God does not need us? He created us in his exact image to fellowship with him. God does not need us? so how is the Gospel going to be preached around the World. Why not end it all now if he does not need us? We have a covenant with him. A covenant states that we do our part and God does his part. It is not all one sided here.

I would rethink some of this.......

brother mike, there is a difference between god needing us and wanting us. further more this is not a message for those that are saved but for those that are lost. there are many people out in this world that are going to church but do not know christ. our hope is in christ for what he has done on the cross for us. i huge key to salvation is repentance. this is more than us going to church or claiming christ. the verses that you quoted are true but have nothing to do with what is written. those verses are for people that have repented and accepted christ as their lord and savior.

oh it is alright brother mike. i am just happy that the lord let us see the truth of both sides and didnt let us get into a trivial argument. i am reall y praying that the lord takes that argumentative personality out of. and gives me wisdom to defend the stand of the gospel without arguing. i do that sometimes, well a lot of the time.

You made me think back to a few weeks ago. My Pastor asked the congregation. (Saved folk)

"Is there any sin you can commit, that will not lead you to death."

Some sat in silence, or stunned. (No preach it brother on this sermon.)

Then he said, "There is no sin, even a little white lie, that will not start working death in you life, robing you of all the good things God wants to do for you, and any sin unrepentant of could cost you, your life."

(Crowed stunned and in silence.)

I have to add, we would be considered a word of Faith Church, as my Pastor is very good friends with Brother Copeland, and studied under Brother Hagin being his personal assistant for over 20 some years.

We don't hear messages like this often, but they seem to be more frequent. More on growing up, and not doubting God word, ETC....

So, after reading your post again..... I am corrected, (that word of Faith teaching just got the best of me.) Sin is not good, saved or unsaved, and their is no excuse for sin. We are not weak, and can live a sin free life despite what other like to preach. It's an excuse that we can not be like Jesus, and grow to that level a maturity. Just an excuse to stay a poor sinner saved by grace, just a worm in the dirt Christian, when we are to shine with his brilliance, and example of anointing and power on this world. You might say, how can we do this?


This is a scripture we at those Word of faith Churches like to claim... My Pastor pointed this out, and I never saw the context really until then.

Heb 4:16 Let us therefore come boldly unto the throne of grace, that we may obtain mercy, and find grace to help in time of need.

Yes, we are going to the throne and speak God's word, demanding what we want is going to come to pass. That's nice, but look at what came before that.

Heb 4:15 For we have not a high priest which cannot be touched with the feeling of our infirmities; but was in all points tempted like as we are, yet without sin.

It would seem, that when we are tempted to sin, that their is more than enough help to overcome that sin if we will just stop and get on our knees and cry HELP!!!. If the word says so, then it's true as God will make a way to escape, We then listen to the Holy Ghost and get out knowing that to finish that sin could cost us more than we can afford to pay. (1Co 10:13)

God Bless Brother, let us remember we serve a Holy God, and strive to be like Him.

brother mike, i do believe that this is the best post i have seen on this forum. you are very blessed to hear sermons and messages like that. they are important for us all even if we have been saved for years.

the lord gives us the answer to living perfect in 1 thess. 5 and again in the gospels when peter got out of the boat to walk on the water with jesus. he took his eyes off of the lord and fell right into the water. the problem is we have all been brain washed with the whole many and business ideas. we look more toward be perfect in the things of this world then we do being perfect of the things in the heavens. thank you brother mike. the lord has used you in a great way today.

Hebrews 9:24-28
