A dear friend of mine wrote this, I truly and honestly loved it.
By Mark Tirris
God is beyond this world!
Even beyond the stars, further away than we can see with our puny eyes and our puny telescopes. We think were so great with our scientist who think they figured everything out.
We think we have some claim on God and that he owes us something as if God is here just to please us and bring us happiness.
We think God needs to save our world.
God doesn't need to save our world! He has the power to destroy the Earth in the blink of and eye. He could destroy the whole universe if He so desired and He would not be any less Great!
He doesn't need us! He doesn't need our puny praise! He doesn't need the little glory the we give to Him! He doesn’t need out life, our family, our health, our jobs, our world.
He is no less if the hole universe were never created!
This God is not so small. He is beyond our imagination, do you understand that, He is beyond what we can imagine, beyond our creativity.
He gave us the ability to think.
He doesn’t need anything from us and actually all he 'owes' us is to kill us because all we've done throughout humanity is want to run our own lives, and stick God the finger whenever he got in 'our' way and 'our' schemes.
But even though this is the case, God has chose to show us His mercy and grace.
Even though we deserve to be killed and it would be easier to just destroy earth, He chooses to love us and wants a relationship with us.
This is what amazes me to the point of tears.
Out of his mercy He wants our friendship, He accepts our praise, He wants to change us and make our lives, lives of holiness and love.
What a great God.
We see all of his charter in the Man who walked the earth just like us – Jesus. He is God. The God Man. The God of the universe who took on flesh to show us his great love and the way to really know God.
His life was documented in many sources. By following him we know God intimately and receive his forgiveness and friendship.
