Hi there everyone. I thought it would be interesting if I posted some names of God and some Bible names, as I know them in my home langauge.

I speak Afrikaans, which is a language which was formed from Dutch. The language formed approximately over 150 years as the Dutch and French people occupied Southern Africa, I may be wrong with the exact details, but God knows for sure.


Well here goes. Take note the pronuncutation is totally different.

Jesus in Afrikaans is Jesus
God in Afrikaans is God
Lord in Afrikaans is Here
Father in Afrikaans is Vader
Son of God in Afrikaans is Seun van God
Holy Spirit in Afrikaans is Heilige Gees
Creator in Afrikaans is Skepper
Apostles in Afrikaans is Apostels
Disciples in Afrikaans is Dissipels
Angel in Afrikaans is Engel
Bible in Afrikaans is Bybel

That's just a few words that come to mind. I hope to see some of your words if you speak a language other than English.

I love the jewish culture, and here is a couple of things I've learnt.

The Holy Spirit = Ruach Hakkodesh

The spirit of the Lord God = Ruach Adonai Adonai

Alpha and Omega = Aleph v'Tav ( ah-lef ve TAHV )

Abba = Father

All sufficient God = El Shaddai

Consuming Fire = Esh Okhlah
