Psalm 135:6 E
Whatever the Lord pleases, he does, in heaven and on earth, in the seas and all deeps.

Psalm 115:3
Our God is in the heavens; he does all that he pleases.

Daniel 4:35
All the inhabitants of the earth are accounted as nothing, and he does according to his will among the host of heaven and among the inhabitants of the earth; and none can stay his hand or say to him, “What have you done?”

Proverbs 16:4
The Lord has made everything for its purpose, even the wicked for the day of trouble.

Good verses.

He is always on the throne.

Nothing gets by Him. All goes His way.

@Life,
Ephesians 1:11
In whom also we have obtained an inheritance, being predestinated according to the purpose of him who works all things after the counsel of his own will:

On a slightly different take on this thread....

John 5:2; Now there is in Jerusalem by the sheep gate a pool, which is called in Hebrew Bethesda, having five porticoes.
John 5:3; In these lay a multitude of those who were sick, blind, lame, and withered, [waiting for the moving of the waters;
John 5:4; for an angel of the Lord went down at certain seasons into the pool and stirred up the water; whoever then first, after the stirring up of the water, stepped in was made well from whatever disease with which he was afflicted.]
John 5:5; A man was there who had been ill for thirty-eight years.
John 5:6; When Jesus saw him lying there, and knew that he had already been a long time in that condition, He *said to him, "Do you wish to get well?"
John 5:7; The sick man answered Him, "Sir, I have no man to put me into the pool when the water is stirred up, but while I am coming, another steps down before me."
John 5:8; Jesus *said to him, "Get up, pick up your pallet and walk."

Verse 3 says there was a "multitude" of people there who were sick, lame and blind. Yet it seems He doesn't heal all of them.
He specifically picks out a lame man. (we find out later this happened on the Sabbath day).
Now this passage says absolutely nothing about the man's faith. Sometimes we say someone didn't get healed because they didn't have enough faith.
..and yet, in this particular passage, the "faith" of the man didn't seem to make any difference who Jesus chose.
Now why did Jesus pick out this particular man. More to the point, why didn't Jesus simply just heal everyone there?

God does as He pleases. We may not always know why, the reason isn't always obvious, but sometimes He decides to heal, or He decides not to heal
and it really doesn't matter if our faith is a part of the equation or not. I'm not saying it doesn't "ever" matter, but it seems it doesn't "always" matter.

We have to be careful with drawing a full stop after the line ''God does what pleases Him''. If we do, we can think in a Calvinistic direction.

It is important to grasp that 1. God does whatever pleases Him and 2. what pleases Him is to be exceedingly good Psalm 136:1, light with no darkness 1 John 1:5 and impartial Acts 10:34 in all His dealings with us.

This is why He can and does make true free will a reality. It pleased Him to die on the cross, for free will.

God does what He pleases. And what He does is always good. If God saves three thousand it is good. If He slays three thousand it is good.

Does God do good? Or is the good what God does? Answer: the latter.

If God slays 3000 unjustly, it is not good.

If God did not want us to grasp evil, He would not have given us the ability to grasp good and evil Gen 3:22.

David says 'give thanks because God is good' Psalm 136:1. He could be evil. But He is not.

We can trust that if God has to slay 3000 it passes all the tests we would impose on judging the act as ''good''.

This ''blind'' belief that God is good, beyond judgement is ridiculous. God has given us minds. He has not, not given us minds.

Your reply implies we must just accept ''whatever'', as God is God. You are not grasping that God wants a bride to choose Him, for who He is. Let's not miss-represent Him.

Are you implying God could slay 3000 unjustly? If not, then what God does is good. For He did slay 3000. And much more than that.

Of course God is good. And what God does is good, no matter what that is.

You are willing to sit in judgement of God? Pretty lofty position. (Job 38-41) comes to mind.

I don't see what the bride choosing God has to do with it.

God has slain nobody unjustly. Swift executions. No torture. Only those who were warned. Only those who sin was full measure. Much like we would give a murderer the death penalty or life imprisonment. Nobody would judge us as evil for this. Likewise God.

God puts us on His level in grasping what is good and evil Gen 3:22.

Christianity is mankind accepting Jesus / God. Who would accept a wicked God? Who would willingly serve a wicked God. Or a God they believed was wicked?

Are you a Christian because our God just happens to be the God in charge?

A tyrant doesn't get followers, He gets slaves. Is our God a slaver?

great post I get so tired of some of these phony people claiming if you dont get healed its because you dont have enough faith, only to find out they themselves become sick LOL

That's right, because what God does is good.

Well, God gave to man to know good and evil. How much man grasps it is questionable. Who is asking anyone to serve a wicked God? I have said, God is good.

I am a Christian because I needed and came to Christ as my Lord and Saviour.

I sense a loaded question here. But, were you not bought and paid for by God at a very high price? (1 Cor. 6:20) "For ye are bought with a price...." See also (Acts 20:28), (Eph.1:4), (1 Cor. 7:23), (2 Peter. 2:1) etc. etc. Was God wicked in purchasing you?
