Hi all
I thought it would be a good idea to start a thread debunking lies the enemy posts about our God.
If you visit atheist forums you will see it is rife with lies about the bible and many false claims about God.
It is very important for a Christian to properly represent God to the lost. Being an ambassador for God is our 'one' job.
Lie 1. God is a mix of good and evil as there is good and evil in the world.
No, God is only good. Psalm 145:17 says He is righteous in all His ways and 1 John 1:5 says He is light with no darkness in Him at all.
Evil is something a good God created to allow for Free will. Free will is a very hard topic to discuss and understand for many. What we need to understand is that 'no-free will' is evil. Just ask any 'Black lives matter' members if they think slavery was a good thing.
There is good and evil on earth, but God has created evil in such a manner that the source of it can be traced to decisions made by humans and angels.
We need to consider the fact that the existence of evil speaks volumes to how good God is. God hates what is evil. Utterly utterly hates it. ''Yet'' He allows it to take place 'temporarily' to allow His high intelligence creations to have true free will. Anyone therefore who mocks the idea of true free will or thinks God is evil, honestly has no clue about how insanely good and loving God is.
Lie 2. God is a murderer. The bible is full of stories about people He killed. God should be in prison.
Murderers get prison sentences as they are wicked people. When God destroys people on earth, it is more on par with sentencing a wicked person to death.
With regards to children that die, we need to understand that God does not ''completely destroy'' anyone. Everyone that ''dies'' on earth goes to an eternal home in heaven or hell. Children go to heaven to be 'tested' later in the millenium.
Every case of God destroying someone needs to properly examined. We see that with the Amorites for example, they were extremely wicked. They promised the Jews safe passage and then attached them. They worshipped evil idols and practiced evil things. God also waited for their ''sin to be full measure'' Gen 15:16 before destroying them.
If we consider how God put the devil on earth we see that God wants a balance of good and evil on earth. This creates the perfect setting for free will. When that balance shifts in the direction of evil, as was / is the case with Sodom, Noah's flood, the coming tribulation, we see that God brings change by removing the wicked.
Gen 18:20 Then the LORD said, “The outcry against Sodom and Gomorrah is so great and their sin so grievous.
It is also very important to understand that in every case of God destroying people, He does so swiftly. Torturing someone to death is evil and anyone who does this is evil. Drowning is a quick death as is being burnt alive. We know that God did not repeatedly dunk peoples heads in water and we know from Gen 19 that God did no pro-long suffering with fire. Gen 19:28 And he looked toward Sodom and Gomorrah, and toward all the land of the plain, and beheld, and, lo, the smoke of the country went up as the smoke of a furnace.
Lie 3: God approved of slavery and taught that slave owners can be cruel with no punishment.
The Jews did take slaves. But what God-bashers do not mention is the below:
Deut 23:15 If a slave has taken refuge with you, do not hand them over to their master.
Exodus 21:2“If you buy a Hebrew servant, he is to serve you for six years. But in the seventh year, he shall go free, without paying anything.
Exoude 21:16 “Anyone who kidnaps someone is to be put to death, whether the victim has been sold or is still in the kidnapper’s possession
