When we read the Bible from Genesis to Revelation, it is clear that God seeks those individuals whom He calls to glorify His name. We were created to glorify God and to enjoy Him forever and ever. God created us for this purpose, yet few people glorify God in their lives. So many people are unhappy and live unfulfilled lives because they are living to glorify themselves instead of glorifying God. It's all about what they are doing instead of what God is doing in them and through them. They're screaming, "Look at me, look at me!" So many Christians have it all wrong. It's not about you! And it's not about me! It's about Christ in us. He's in us, He does the work through us, and He gets the glory. If you're unhappy, it's because you have you on your mind and not Christ. God's Word tells us how to be happy, healthy, satisfied and content. When we ignore His way, our minds become troubled and confused. God's peace slowly slips away.

Those who have not been born-again cannot glorify God. Those who have not accepted Jesus Christ as their Savior, believe in their heart the sacrifice He made by dying on a cross to forgive them of their sins, and rose from the dead; have no means to glorify God because they are without the indwelling of the Holy Spirit. God the Father illuminates Jesus Christ to us as Jesus told Simon Peter in John 14:10. And 1 John 2:27 reaffirms this. Those who are not believers cannot know Jesus because the Holy Spirit is not in them to reveal the Messiah-2 Corinthians 3:16. John 14:16-17 testifies that only those who believe in Jesus have His Spirit.

I used to think that I was seeking after God and found Him, but this is contrary to what the Bible says. Romans 3:11 indicates that "there is no one who understands, no one who seeks God." We were created to glorify God and to enjoy Him in eternity, meaning He called us to eternal life to worship Him forever. God actually takes pleasure in us. God is Creator of all things and He says that all things-that includes you and me- were created for His pleasure.-Revelation 4;11.

We will fall at the feet of Jesus someday and worship Him. Some of us will have earned crowns in this life due to the fruit of our labor. We will cast our crowns at His feet and worship Him. We were created by God to worship Him, to glorify Him, predestined to do good works for Him, to share Jesus Christ's gospel with the lost, and to enjoy Him for eternity. God created us for His glory, not our glory. Whatever we do in life should honor God, not us. The words we speak and the things we do should point to Christ in us.

Father, may we glorify You with our lives. As we study the Bible and grow in the knowledge of Who You are, show us ways to glorify You and enjoy You while our journey here on earth continues. In Jesus' name I pray, Amen.

Love in Christ,
Jan
